I'm a 36 year old female that has been dipping for 6 years. I found this sight 3 years ago, but I wasn't ready to quit at the time. My husband and I are trying to have a baby and I want to quit before I get pregnant. All the support I can get will be greatly appreciated. I am in the military and I'm around guys dipping all the time, so I know this is going to be tough.

Welcome, you will find lots of women and military who successfully quit here and in the forums. Quit is simple, but very hard.
First, flush the contents of every can you have. You do not want temptation around. Then quit cold turkey.
Second, join the April 2016 quit group. Post roll, your daily promise not to use nicotine for 24 hours. Get to know those quitters, exchange digits to build your own support network.. (Crazy, but it works).
Third, drink lots of water and exercise. Read this site for inspiration. It will suck until it doesn't -- but you can do this.
Find the spousal support page, find the military forum page -- these will have information and contacts specific to your situation.
Finally, bring your rage here -- spare your husband. We understand what quitting nicotine does to you, have been there done that.

Welcome to the best decision you have made in your life.
Drink plenty of water and orange juice (you will read that nicotine creates blood sugars in the brain - when you quit you lose these. O.J. with its sugar helps save the day) and exercise.
Read this post about the effects of quitting so you will be ready. http://www.killthecan.org/additional-re ... ithdrawal/ (http://www.killthecan.org/additional-resources/the-effects-of-physical-withdrawal/)
Treat your self special the first three days and get as much sleep as possible.
Also, make sure you have a full stomach during your quit. It will reduce your cravings.
I finally quit at the age of 59 after dipping since 6th grade and wish I could have quit sooner.
Congratulations on your quit. I quit with you today.
