Title: Hello
Post by: joeyisaquitter on December 31, 2013, 09:02:00 AM
Hi, i'm Joseph. I recently decided on a quit lifestyle (12/29/13). I guess I did it because I don't want to die and hurt those I love. The withdrawal symptoms are tough, but i'm tougher. I'm withdrawalglad to be part of this community and I know that i'm quit for life.

Welcome to KTC, welcome to taking your life back one day at a time. It is very important to note that you have to do it daily, hell some days hourly.

You seem to have your mind and heart set on quitting, so let's do this.

Learn how to post roll: How to Post Roll (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=50)

Post Roll here: Pre HOF April 2014 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=9259). I see that you have already posted up, I fixed it for you and you will learn how to do it. Fucking up roll is a rite of passage. So you are now at least two steps into your quit with KTC. Read the link above to learn how to not fuck it up as bad, however when or if you do there are many of us that will help fix it.

Read everything that you can on here. Take it in as your time allows. The minimum price of admission on here is to post roll daily, that is your pledge or promise to be quit for that day. Take that seriously as this is a promise.

Quit like a beast every day and own this; it is not easy but if your life is worth having then you will learn to fight through it. Find an alternative for tobacco (seeds, jerkey, cinnamon candies, fake dip, etc.). Keep an alternative with you at all times. Drinks lots of water, fight the urges and stay away from triggers (dip buddies, certain convenience stores, alcohol, road trips, etc.)

Exchange phone numbers with other quitters, young and old. Plan for every holiday, weekend or any event that may test your quit resolve.

P.S. The underlined words above are links to locations on this forum.

You will not know that you are "quit for life" until the day you die. We take things one day at a time around here. Do not look past today and quit just for today and you will be fine.

Welcome

You aren't quit for life friend. You are quit for today. Just like me and everyone else here. A bunch of addicts quitting one day at a time.

Welcome

Joey, good response. The point that everyone is making is to focus only on today, never ever think about tomorrow, next week or life...Nicotine rewired your brain and although your resolve is to quit you might get tricked into missing today when you look too far ahead.

Joey, welcome to the family.

You are in the right place at the right time. This is a commitment to yourself, first and foremost. Make sure you realize that every day you wake up. YOU have to live with yourself at the end of the day, and YOU will be the only one to measure your success OR your failure.

You need ANYTHING at all, just holla. There are tons of folks here that are primed and ready to encourage you whenever you may need it.

You're damn right you're tougher. Keep that attitude and you will be just fine. Tell yourself that every day. "I'm better than that shit." "I'm tougher." You can do this, just like all the other quitters are doing here. One day at a time, sometimes one minute at a time. Post roll. That is important. Every day, at least once a day, make a commitment to your quit brothers here. Get phone numbers and text with your group. You will support each other and help each other to success.

I quit with you today!!!
