Title: 24 year dipshit
Post by: glenny on March 26, 2013, 03:29:00 AM
After reading this site and laughing my ass off for the last two hours I felt the need to post my story. I started chewing when I was 16. I hated it at first, got sick the first couple dips but since my older baseball teammates did it I started doing it more and more until I was addicted. I said after I got my first girlfriend I would stop. My first girlfriend thought it was cool so I continued chewing. Alright I don't want to bore you all with the next 24 years of chewing so I'll get to my points. I've tried to quit chewing at least 30a times. Once I even lasted a year until I went to Vegas and had a big relapse. I counted the days on the calendar so many times, had dip rage countless times and made my wife think I was never going to be able to kick this life altering habit. I honestly don't know what changed about the last time I quit. I don't know what switch I turned on in my brain that allowed me to quit this time. I tried to quit before my 6 year old boy was born, then my 2 year old girl. Maybe I finally quit because I felt like after all these years I still don't have cancer and if I keep it up its only a matter of days or dips before I see the first signs in my mouth. Maybe its because of all the new help one can get on the internet now that doesn't involve cigarettes. Can't tell you how many times I searched for advice for quitting and all that came up was quitting smoking. No offense to smokers but quitting chewing is a lot harder than putting pieces of wadded up paper in your mouth. Seems like nobody understood what I was going through every fucking time I tried to quit. Anyways, this last time I quit I told myself I wasn't going to count the days or even write down my quit date. I don't know what day I quit and even now I don't know what month I quit. I quit in 2012 somewhere around October I think. It is funny how your mind plays games with your head while you try to quit. Almost telling you that after I eat dinner I will reward you with a dip. I was also guided with Walmarts version of Nicorett lozenge. Brand name is Equate sold in 4mggroup and 2mgscore for about half the cost. I still have hard feelings toward chewing. Just writing this makes me want to say fuck you you fucking shit tasting habit forming cancer causing rat turd can of chew. God that felt good. Thanks for the vine. I look forward to spending more time on your awesome site.

come on in Glenn. Sign up and start posting with the different groups. Since you quit in Oct 2012, most likely your quit group would be Jan 2013 Jackwagins. I'm sure they would welcome you into their group. They are a great bunch of guys. Your welcome to come and post with us in March 2013 as well. We almost have all our active guys on the HOF train but you are welcome to jump on the train with us. It will be a hell of a ride.

Congrats on your decision to quit.

Mike

I have no idea how you managed to quit solo. I could not have done it without this place. Congrats!.

Take some time a read the welcome center and feel free to post roll in your group and any other group. Trust me, you aren't out of the woods just yet and accountability helps.

Like you, I started flirting with dipping due to baseball around age 13-14 which turned into a full time addiction around 16. I stuffed that crap into my face for 22 years before  last March.

This place works if you want it.

gotta ask there, I see reference to Guided to Walmart Nicorette Lozenge? Does that mean you are still using nicotene (which is the addictive substance)?

Which calls to question, have to stopped the habit, or have you quit the addiction?

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm sorry, I thought sticking that shit in your lip and then not sticking that shit in your lip was quitting. My bad. Yes I did start another addictive habit of putting nicotine lozenges in my mouth, but not that cancer causing chew. Umm, WT57 get a hold of yourself bud, I did quit and your "all bullshit" line is just crap. Because I chose to use a method that you did not choose to use doesn't make my story bullshit. Yes I might need to use the methods and help from "killthecan" now, but your "encouraging" words may turn others off from using different techniques to ultimately kill the can. As for the others who commented on my story, I appreciate the encouraging words and the invitation to explore what this site has to offer my addiction. Thank you. I look forward to what you have to offer.

Hey I am glad you are not using tobacco but you are not Addicted to Tobacco you are an ADDICT to NICOTINE. The NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) is a load of crap it make quitting a slow and painful process. Do you feel quit? Do you feel like me (badass)? Listen the only way is COLD TURKEY (in my humble opinion.) To truly quit and become free is to not have that shit in you blood. Listen you are not a special butterfly we have all done it and you can to! Quit sucking on you NIC, grab you balls and really QUIT!

By the Way WT57 is a great guy and will support you in your quit.. But you are NOT QUIT. There is no room for weakness in his quit.

I posted a nice reply for you in January. First and foremost this is a nicotine free site. Period. Are you nicotine free? It is a yes or no question. If you are using NRT, then you are not quit. Flush it, then come here and get all the support you will ever ask for.

Let us know the answer and your support will be waiting.

What WT57 said X 1000 'bang head'

This is a NO NICOTINE site. Come back when you grow a pair and when you realize that you are a NICOTINE addict....just like the 40000 who have quit before you on this site.

Don't down brother WT57, his advice has saved countless lives....humble your addict ass youngin'. Drink the quit koolaid here at KTC and maybe, just maybe you can quit.....

I quit with WT57 everyday that ends with a "y". 'bang head'

Oops, I guess I missed the nicotine lozenge part. To be fair your intro was one big wall of text, so I didn't see that part.

If you want to really quit, then dump those lozenges, post your day 1 roll call in the July '13 quit group and we'll welcome you aboard.

(Choose the best answer)

Your ex treated you like shit so you broke up with her. She has a ton of baggage, and you even caught her cleaning out your bank account and blowing your brother at Thanksgiving. You know that your life is so much better without her, but she still makes your head spin when you guys get together. So, every time you see her, you guys wrestle in the sheets.

You find out that she has some super (Paris Hilton level) STD that causes your genitals to burst into flames 5 minutes after coitous. This is followed by Hulk-like rage and madness. Your skin starts melting from your face like that scene in Poltergeist, and 4 vertebrae find themselves into your shin.

Q: What is the best way to have her come over to your house for some down low dirty sex? (Choose the best answer)

(1) Have her drive over in her car
(2) Have her take a cab
(3) Have her take a helicopter
(4) Have her take a sailboat
(5) Have her fly a plane
(6) Have her stay as far away from you as possible.
(7) Have her take a hovercraft
(8) Have her ride a motorcycle
(9) Have her ride a unicycle
(10)Have her walk.

A: (6) Have her stay as far away from you as possible.

It doesn't matter what vehicle she takes, you're still going to end up like this guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3ythpzsu18) unless you stay as far away from her as you can.

The same goes for quitting.

In fact, as you are so adament about using lozenges, let's read the fine print on those:

Nicorette's FAQs (http://www.nicorette.com/quitting-support/faqs#lnk08)
Quote from: From
Can I use Nicorette stop smoking products to help quit chewing tobacco, smoking cigars or using a pipe?
No, the Food  Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of Nicorette only as Therapeutic Nicotine for cigarette smoking. Talk with your doctor to find a product that is right for your circumstance.
All you are doing is telling the whore to come over on a unicycle instead of a taxi.

Does it make sense to quit putting nicotine laced shit in your mouth by putting nicotine laced shit in your mouth?

You are still physically addicted, and that can be broken in 3-7 days.

The good news is that you, sir, can post up a day 1 today (or for whenever you stopped using that nicotine vehicle system). You will not have to deal with the mental habit that hits most quitters simultaneously with the physical quit. You have broken that habit, and now you can break the dependency.

You can do this bud.

Before you get too pissed off at these guys - THEY WANT TO HELP YOU quit nicotine. They want you to quit all nicotine, quite possibly more than you want to quit all nic. That's what we do here! Would you go into a bowling alley and expect to get pats on the back for pulling out a shotgun and shooting all the pins down? The pins all fall down but that's not what they fucking do at a bowling alley. I'm not saying there is nothing good about shooting shit with a 12Ga. but that's not what you do when you bowl. We quit nicotine here, chew, cigs, cigars, pipe, gum, candy, ALL forms. For someone to come here and say switching to nic gum works for me, that's what I wanted and then to expect everyone to run over and say great is kind of like expecting a trophy for shooting all the pins over... I'm glad for you if your happy with what you did but if you are still on nicotine you get no trophy here. If you want to quit the nic these guys will help or if you have quit the nic tacs find your group and post away - if you're quit you're welcome to join the party.
