Well I'm currently on day 2 of my quit. I've used smokeless tobacco for about 5-6 years now and I smoked cigarettes for about 4-5 years before I switched to chew. To say that I haven't been thinking about dip would be the severest of understatements. But you all knew that already. I'm moving across the country in about a month so hopefully those 40 hours in a car won't be the end of my quit. I'm looking forward to interacting with everyone on this site.

I see you're on roll and that is a good start! If you're worried about your drive reach out to people in your group and get some numbers. It may sound strange to get numbers from people you don't know, but trust me it helps!

Let's worry about the ride when we have to. Today is just today, surely, we can do it again tomorrow. See you on roll and shout if you need anything! Most of these ghuys will give you the shirt off your back but please don't call them shirley.

One day, one hour, one second, we can't worry about the future my friend let's make it through our promised day. It gets a little easier every day. Not always noticeable but it does. Gum, fake chew, seeds it all helps find you something because a lot of the times its more of the oral fixation than anything. Stay strong, its not easy but you can do this, I am after 38 year's. Damn proud of you! Quit on!

My dad has to do long drives ever day for work. He says the best ssubstitute hes found is those red fireball candies.

That's good to know. I'll have almost 3 weeks under my belt by the time I have to leave. Day 5 now and it's certainly not easy but each day is getting a little better. I'm a lot less concerned about not making it over the drive than I am now.

Keep it up LH. Keep adding the days, they will start to get easier I promise. I know you will find this hard to believe right now, but it is possible to drive without a dip. I didn't believe it either when I first got here, but I have made several long drives since I quit with seeds or gum working just fine. Don't worry about anything that is not happening today. It will only increase the anxiety you're feeling. Just deal with today. We'll work on tomorrow when it gets here.
