Title: 2nd day
Post by: beef jerky on January 11, 2014, 03:16:00 PM
Just joined the site. This is my second day chew free (and nicotine free). I finally decided to because my work has health evaluations coming up and one of the metrics is tobacco use. I could have decided to just not do the evaluation, but I figured I might as wall try now since I've been wanting to for sometime now. I've quit before and I don't remember it sucking nearly as bad as it does this time. Man, wish I would've just stayed quit before. I don't even remember the foggy feeling last time. Once I get through the first 100 days, I will definitely remember this feeling as inspiration to not start up again.

Hey Jerky, don't worry or dwell on past failures or pauses and definitely don't be thinking about 100 days. The suck and fog your going through is a good thing to remember and use it as part of your daily motivation. Quitting one day at a time is what we do. If you promise yourself and all of us that you won't use nicotine today by posting roll. We will be here to hold you accountable. I will say you need to get a little more aggressive and strengthen your will or this will just be another brief pause!!!

Beef Jerrky, funny thats what I'm making today. I am a newbie to this site, take my advise and take the quit seriously. Post every day and focus on one day at a time. (ODAAT). When you make it through a day then remember for the next day. Visit the site and read for inspiration. Call out to your brethren when you are in need. Talk, scream what ever it takes to shake the addiction.

Welcome beef. I gotta say, you don't seem fully committed. Quitting is something you only do once, there is no going back. If you are just planning to quit long enough to pass your test, then good luck and good riddance. The rest of us are here to quit. Period. Now if you want to become a quitter, then read and learn what you are up against. PM me if I can assist you.

Every day I am quit gives me another day of reason to stay quit. Every day is a fight against nicotine, one that I must win for that day. She is a heavyweight champion, one who has claimed millions of lives and is only interested in claiming my life to improve her statistics. When I win that day's fight, I am then ready to face the fight the next day. I use these victories as my ground to stand on, to build my mountain of victories and become king of that mountain. The more I win the higher the mountain and the further away I try to distance my self from that bitch. I dipped for 18 years, and the way I see it, I am 31 and 6570 against her during this time. My mountain is merely a goose bump in her eyes, and this is why I must take on each fight one day at a time. Victory #100 would be a nice goal, but in order to get there, I just need to worry about notching up win #32.
