Title: I dont want my kids to not have a father
Post by: bd2017 on April 30, 2017, 11:56:00 PM
I have been a dipper since I was 13 or 14. I quit for about two or so years when I was 22 or 23. I am now 26, a husband and father of three. I have been dipping again off and on for about a year. I have seen this site before in past attempts to quit but never joined for prideful reasons. Here I am now though, and I need some support. My wife is a smoker and I am quitting without her knowledge in hopes that she will follow me in my journey through example. I am also doing this for my children but most importantly for myself. I'm tired of being controlled by a chemical that is in a product that is so harmful.

I need some support and encouragement in this journey. Maybe even a battle buddy so to speak.

thanks for your time everyone,

Brian

Brian - first step is to get over to the August quit group (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/30223454/) and post roll.

If you found the site and signed up without having any idea what you were getting yourself into (which is exactly how I ended up here), then I recommend you read Here's How You Quit... Ball Is In Your Court Now (https://www.killthecan.org/heres-how-you-quit-ball-is-in-your-court-now/) to get an idea of what quit groups are, what posting roll means, and how things work here.

What ever you do, do not make this quit in any way about your wife or kids!! Make it all about you and the rest is an added bonus. I understand what you mean about the wife though because mine smokes as well. Since I have quit, she has been closer to quitting but has not yet.
