Title: I am done
Post by: bigbadwolf on May 10, 2011, 10:32:00 AM
I have been quit for 7 days and I bought a can this morning. 'bang head'

I took a dip and threw it away. So I'm turning to the web for some help. This is kicking my ass. My mouth is so sore and my tongue has huge cracks. Hell it hurts to brush my teeth. I am going back for my next 7 and hopefully cant get rid of this habit.

What made you get the can this morning?

I also don't understand the mouth sores. It's listed as a common symptom, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it. You been eating a lot of sunflower seeds?

Welcome. Please remember that this is an addiction, not a habit.
Post roll every day and keep your word and this will never happen again.

What Mike said. This ain't no 'habit'. You're an addict. That's why you can't make it past Day 7 without caving.

But we have the answer.

I dont know why I got a can honestly. This is the easiest time I have had quitting. I have tried previously and have not had success. I would end up going back to dipping plus having a gum and seed habit. I have quit cold turkey this time, no gum, no seeds, no nothing. Im a finally ready to quit. Im 20 and I have been dipping for 8 years. Now is the time and I think I just need to know that there are others out there trying to quit too to keep me from giving in and buying a can like this morning.

Welcome aboard.

There's just one little difference between you and me: I'm not 'trying' to quit.

I am quit.

The sooner you make that distinction with yourself, the more success you'll have.

Yes, we all understand what you're going through.

You and I are no different in that, I too, am just a Convenience Store and a bad decision away from caving...just like you this morning. Don't do it again.

Now go post roll in August 2011 and get this shit done.

NOLAQ is a badass quitter and he is right. There is a difference between "trying to quit" and "I am quit". I say that to get to this point, even if you don't understand the difference yet between "trying" and "I am" or why it is important to post roll and do it when you wake up. Just do it. Just do it anyway. As this journey unfolds things begin to make sense. You begin to understand the method to the madness.

So, lets get on it. Just implement the plan. PM me if you need any personal assistance.

Don't try..... just quit. THere are others in exactly the same place as you. They are in the August group waiting to support you. Get to know them, they will save your ass many times from here on.

There many more of us who have been where you are. We will help, too, if you let us know what you need. Glad to be quit with you.

Wolfy,

You fucked yourself.

Nicotine is out of your system in three days, Then your body and brain start healing. The nicotine receptors in your noggin start to quiet down. It takes a hell of alot longer than 7 days for that to happen. When you had that one dip, you didn't just step back a little bit. YOU START OVER !!! You lit the nicotine receptors in your brain up like a pinball machine on the fourth of July. You literally start back from zero.

This is known as the "law of addiction" google it
