Today I'm taking back my life. I've been addicted to "dip" for the past 12 years and today I am regaining my independence from this vile SHIT! I am going to strive to remain strong in the face of whatever this addiction will throw at me and take this one day at a time.

head up to the welcome center and read everything you can. post to your quit group roll - its your promise to yourself and your new found brothers that you will NOT USE NICOTINE today
welcome aboard!

Don't strive.......... just do. There is "quit" and there is "not quit". Today we are both quit. Let's meet here again in the morning to discuss tomorrow, shall we?
Glad to see you here. Reach out if you need anything.

Congratulations on your decision. Why are you quitting? What do you have to quit for? What are you gonna do after dinner tonight and you start having major craves? How about in the morning when you wake up? How about when you just cant take it any more? What is your plan my brother?

I've quit so many times but I've been back on it for about 4 months now. I'm quitting again and hopefully this is the last time. I've been on and off the dip for about 5 years now. I quit on Monday and had only 2 small dips since then. It's time to not dip anymore!

Just want to make sure you understand YOU DID NOT QUIT MONDAY, you may have slowed way down but if you have since had 2 dips you did not quit, once you quit you may have 0, zero, nadda dips if you want to say you have quit. Read the welcome center, ask questions. If you want to quit you can, please don't think this is me saying you can't quit you CAN, you just didn't quit on Monday. If I can help with anything pm me.

Radman,
See you in the morning to discuss tomorrow.
MOA,
I've quit because I no longer want to be a slave to nic. You ask what I have to quit for....I have a wife and two small kids, but first and foremost I have to quit for myself. After dinner was not bad. Throughout the day, I've found that seeds and gum have worked well.
My plan is to stay onboard the oil rig for another 27 days nic free then transition my new found freedom into my home life. I know it will be tough, especially once I return home. The good part of quitting onboard an oil rig is that you cannot run down to the corner store, I'm stuck in the middle of the ocean 125 miles of the coast. I know that this will be a long hard struggle. That is why I came to this board to seek support from people who have lived through it and can help.

1 day down. I felt dizzy and weak most of the day yesterday. Went to bed early and woke-up every couple of hours. I feel a lot better today, not as run down feeling. Today is going to be better than yesterday. Seeds and chewing gum are my best friends. Trying to stay busy to keep my mind focused and really liking all of the support that is available on here. Thank you all!

Nice work Rig....keep it up. I'm only on Day 8 so dont have any stellar advice other than to keep plowing thru it.....mine improved incrementally daily.....it WILL get better. Stay focused on being distracted...or, stay distracted at being distracted? ah hell...i dont know what the what, I got distracted......

Congrats. My point is 1) your quit must be for yourself. It helps me to think of those that I love and how they would feel if something happened to me because of tobacco...I could not bare the idea of hurting my wife and children. 2) You have to have a plan. I carry a copy of my plan in my wallet. You must know that you will have moments of weakness. Times when "fuck it" seems to prevail in your mind and you must unzip your pants and grab ahold to stay quit. 3) Being on a rig w/o a C-store is a good start but my guess is that someone else on the rig dips and would gladly fuck up your quit if you only asked. Reach out to people here on the site that you can call and can talk you off the ledge when you need them. Educate yourself by reading everything on the site. Comment on other posts (get involved). Visit live chat and get to know a few quitters here. The more invested you are here the harder it is to shit on your bruddas and sistas by caving. Glad to have you here. I will check on you agin in a few days.

You have been absent since lunch on the 27th. Not good for a new quitter. A football game and a few cold ones and then the Biotch comes a calling..."Just once more for old times sake." "'boob' dont you miss this honey?" Pretty soon your team is down by 14, youre half drunk and have a great big lip turd in your face...Get your ass back here ASAP and post EVERY DAY! At least until you are more solid in your quit.
I anxiously await reading your HOF speech.

So I heard from our new quitter, apparently RigDoc is alive and well...and still quit! Glad to have you my brother! Can I get a little support for our new friend on the importance of posting roll EVERY day and the risks of a new quitter disappearing at the beginning of a quit?

no roll post and missing from the site, sounds like a failed quit ready to happen... Get on here and give your word to not use for the day, it's not too tough and it WILL help you say quit.
