It's to bad that I get this kind of feedback from such a worthy site just because I haven't participated the way some members think I should. Not! According to your analogy I would still be using but l'm not. I really don't care about the discount anymore (it was probably told to me in error). BTW I'm not mad in the least I'm EXTREMELY grateful that I was able to quit using tobacco.

I think we have used it in different ways. I have built a network of peeps that I communicate with a lot. Daily. I've met close to 20 of them in person. I've talked to them on the phone. I've met them for dinner. I've traveled to meet some and some have traveled to meet me (nonghey fyi). I let myself down for 25 years, and I could probably easily do it again with $5 and a weak moment. But I'm not about to shit on those people that trust me.
It is easy to lie to ourselves. It is hard to lie to a team.
Why not give this site that saved your life a little reacharound (ok, that was ghey)? You have nothing to lose but a whole lot to gain.

Why would anyone be suspicious? I have no motivation to lie to anyone. I've quit for months at a time throughout my using life as I'm sure many of you have. This time it's going on 2 years and I'm very pleased with that. The truth is I'm comfortable using sm and I see no pressing reason to stop although I probably will at some point.

I'm backing 30 on this. The point is, the moral door opener to the site is participation. I can't say this for fact, but I'm pretty sure it would be considered that you are a member of the site to receive any "goodies" and the fee of membership is participation, if only roll.
Morally, I don't think any of of long term guys would care if you get the discount, our fight is with the nicotine, but the new guys are supporting the site in a fair manner on this.
Why should you get a goodie of the site if you are not really a member?

If it helps keep you clean I am all for it. This place is not everyones magical panacea. I would like to think so but I also know one can quit using other means and methods.

Here's the thing Cav. I agree, it seems that Kong came here strictly to get a coupon for 10% off of Smokey Mountain, and we all KNOW that he is missing out on some of the best of what this brotherhood of quitters has to offer. I wish he would have decided to stick around and learn about brotherhood and accountability, but he chose not to, the same way he chose not to in 2013 when he joined.
All that having been said, what if this was another Tom Kern? or Sean Marsee? or Gruen Von Behrens? or Randy? What if the smokey mountain is what is keeping him quit/keeping him from the same fate? I think that people who choose not to quit here are making a poor decision, but a few do manage to quit without taking full advantage of KTC. As someone who watched his brother die of throat cancer, I would rather do everything I can for everyone who walks through these doors. Getting Kong a 10% discount may be all the help he is willing to take at this point, but if helps him stay quit, I am happy to help him in this small way. He may be back in the future, and maybe next time, he will want a little more help. We'll be here to give it to him.
