spit my last grizz out at noon on new years day. I wasnt gonna post anything on this site, but the last few days i find myself on here reading all of the stories. I want to be able to see my kids grow up and shoot their first deer and stuff. what really made me want to quit is watching my 14 month old daughter walking around spitting like dad. that sucks!

Hi steele, and welcome to the best decision you can make. You can check out this page (http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/what-to-expect-when-you-quit-dipping/) to see that you are looking at coming up in the next few days and weeks.
How we quit here is very simple. Post roll every day. This is your promise to remain nicotine free for the rest of the day. Do it first thing when you wake up. You are on Day 4...which means you should be through the worst of the physical symptoms.
Drink lots of water, get a little exercise in if you can, and be a man of your word. Others have suggested getting to know your quit group, and to do that, send a few guys a PM with your digits, and ask for theirs. You can then contact each other in case you run in trouble over the next few days.
Quit on.

When will my normal sleeping habits return? This has been the worst $@!ing part of quitting!

It'll take some time. Just be patient and push through these first several days. It's definitely worth it. Once your body gets used to not having nicotine in its system, your sleep should even out again. Check your PMs.

It took me a while to return to normal sleeping hours- frustrating as (*$ for sure! Read others' intro threads, and you'll see examples of every symptom you can face. It helps to know that what you end up facing is normal for withdrawal/recovery.
Keep a log here of your quit -- it's a great reference later, and helps other quitters to see how you did it.
One day at a time, or an hour at a time if that's what it takes. Just stack them up. Get through whatever tonight brings, then start over tomorrow. One of these nights soon you'll sleep better!
You're creating a new life- it has to be earned, because the addiction fights back. It's amazing to be free of the evil grips of addiction though- do it man!

Day five. Went to get my drivers license renewed and the mother phukers wouldn't renew it cause i couldn't pass the eye test! I'm proud of the way I handled myself. I didn't cave. Without this website I think it would've been a different story.

Day 8- starting to come out of the fog. Getting better day by day.

Day 8- starting to come out of the fog. Getting better day by day.
Great news, congrats! It's not over, but the physical stuff is gone- just stay clean now, follow the program here, and you win. Each craving or tough time you get through is a victory- one more situation where you are reprogramming your brain that you can get by on your own, with out poisoning yourself anymore. Great work, keep it up!

You didn't build your addiction to nicotine overnight and you aren't going to build your quit overnight either. Just like your addiction grew stronger with each day of abusing the nic bitch, your quit will grow stronger each day by posting roll and making that promise to not use nicotine. It's not always easy but it's always worth it.
Keep up the great start and stay vigilant. That means post roll EDD, keep reading the great material here on KTF and keep log gin your experience here in your intro.
Quit with you.

Good job Steele. Its post like this that keep me going. Your doing a wonderful thing for yourself. One moment at a time man. There will always be triggers but the further you get away from nicotine The easier everything gets. if I didn't go through it myself I would have never believed it. freedom is awesome.

Thanks for stopping by and posting support in June 14. Know that we all are quit with you. Keep it up.

Congrats on day 31. One month is HUGE. Great job!
Now, I want you to keep doing everything you are doing.....posting roll, reaching out, reading, keeping your word etc. Keep doing it because it works obviously!
I want you to make your quit stronger too. Take nicotine off the table. It is NOT an option. That means, you can stop thinking about it. Don't give nicotine that power. Don't allow it even take up three minutes of your time thinking about it. As soon as it starts in your head, say "I don't do that anymore" and move on. I've said it out loud myself. Don't give nicotine any time. If you take if off the table, you will have to choose something else.

Day 55. Feels awesome. I can't ever remember sleeping this good. When I wake up in the morning I feel well rested and ready to get up. I find myself waking atleast an hour earlier than when I was using. I had to sit next to a coworker in a meeting all day today and he was chewing cope. His breath stunk so fucking bad I was embarrassed for him. I can't believe my breath more than likely smelled like that and never realized it! Fuck you nic bitch!!!
