Title: I'm Ready For This
Post by: coachjake on February 08, 2011, 03:37:00 AM
Hey everybody!

Just signed up late tonight (or early this morning - however ya wanna look at it).

Found my Quit Group already, and even posted my first roll.

Definitely not the first time I've tried to quit dip... But it IS the first time I've done so with such an interactive support structure in place.

A little about me:

Started dippin' at age 16... had a slow beginning. Was chewin' about a can a day by the time I hit 17 though.

Quit for 3 months for USMC boot camp... Thought that'd be the end of it. Hell no. Picked right up again once I got done with that. Continued chewin' for the rest of my time in the Corps...

And here we are now, about a year and a half after my Honorable Discharge. I'm a Beachbody Coach, helping people reach their health and fitness goals.

Seen those ads on TV for P90X and Insanity? Yeah those are kind of like a religion for me. But I got to thinkin' the other day... How in the hell can I expect people to respect what I say about health and fitness - and take it seriously - when I'm constantly packin' my cheek with that shit?

I mean if I wasn't eating, sleeping, or exercising... I'd be dipping.

Sorry for the long-winded intro... But enough is enough.

I'm done being a hypocrite. From now on, I'm going to be as healthy on the inside as I look on the outside. No more excuses!

Thanks for reading,

Welcome Jake, Remember, this is your first Quit. If you tried to quit in the past and caved, you didn't quit. I'm on day 8, take it one day at a time, and use the resources on the site to help you see what to expect in the coming days, and also why you feel that way when it happens. That knowledge will help you keep away from the can. It is a challenge like nothing you have done before. You can do it. We are all here for you, one day at a time.

Best decision you've made coach. Saddle up and enjoy the suck! Get engaged in the site, either read your ass off in the forums or hit the link above for live chat. Great ways to kill time while craves are hitting or just to learn more about your addiction.

Remember Coach, you are an addict. You can never touch that stuff again, or you'll be back to a can a day.

Coach, totally agree with your thinking. Similar ambition got me to quit too. 1.5 years ago I was in horrible shape. Changed my diet and worked my ass off to lose 55lbs and get in the best shape of my life, but was still chewing, which made no sense. Everyday I see incredible athletes in the gym dipping after their workout and all I can think is what's the point of all the hard work if you're still killing yourself?

Quit hard and workout hard, that's our motto now!
