Seth - your problem is your trying to quit. Either quit or dip can't do both. I'm on day 42 after 30 years of dip. If you are ready to quit then be the first to post on the Nov quit group. Remember posting is your pledge to quit for the day. Keep your word. If your going to let problems easily send you back to dipping, then you don't want to quit. Do me a favor and only post when you are ready to quit.

So with that - if you decide to quit, post on Nov and then keep your word. Drink lots of water, get seeds, get fake stuff, read read read and get connected. Post everyday in the morning then keep your word.

So are you quit or are you striving/trying/....

Dude, I bet I can speak for many here, that we have all made the same bullshit excuses. In the past when I would try and quit, my wife would say something that pissed me off, then I now could blame her for me going back to nicotine. Damn what an asshole I was. I couldn't even take responsibility for my own actions.

My advice is to man the fuck up and do this for you. Stop making excuses on why you have to get your next fix and quit. Throw the shit out today! Sign the roll and make the promise not to use for the day, and we will be here to support you.

You can do it!

I've read this, and seen your roll post...underway? You're a sailor? Well, listen up because I'm gonna let you in on a few things...

You have it within you to quit and stay quit...you need to decide right now...no bullshit....if this is real or not. This is your call to GQ.....your life depend upon it and so do the lives of the other quitters here...it's like a big ship...each person does their part to keep everyone afloat...you seal your watertight doors, I'll seal mine, everybody seals theirs...when brothers are havig trouble closing the door, we help em. But you let your door stay open, you get flooded...they guy next to you, he drops his door to try and help you, he gets flooded...before you know it, the whole fucking ship is taking on water and your all going down....

OK, so this is a bit of a reach...but you get the idea...

Great decision to quit.Read, read and read some more. Lots of good advice on here in the words already present as well as from the people posting on here daily. Get things to replace the dip...seeds, gum, fake, mints, whatever...just NO NICOTINE...

Get numbers of brothers...both from November as they show up as well as vets. Learn to ask for help when you need it. Stay away from alcohol for a while...and if you are a sailor and are going out any time soon, stock up on the fake dip...because I know there will be plenty of dip on board, but likely no fake....

Welcome aboard...and if you aren't a sailor...well, pay attention, anyways!

Seth,
We do not try here.. we do. Like the rest of us you are an addict, Nicotine is the enemy. Read about it. Wander over to my page I have some interesting facts about Nicotine and the fucks at Big Tobacco. Should help you get your mind right.

The gautlet has already been thrown by a few people already.... are you quit or are you still trying ?? up to you....

Lots of good advice given here brother, we've all been/are going through it. The fake stuff, seeds, gun do HELP, but the only way I found to deal with it all is to get up the balls, man the hell up, and just push through it. There's no way you'll make it without the right state of mind, and it seems like you got it going now. The first few days are literal hell, and you'll feel like dying, but you just have to DO IT. No more excuses. Get quit!!
