Hey guys,
23 years old and new to the site on my 19th day here. Dipped a little less than a can a day for about 4 years and finally decided to quit when I realized how much control dip had on my life. About a tin a day for me and just like many of you guys I couldn't even think of doing certain things without a dip in my mouth, nevermind following through with quitting. It's been a rough few weeks with my anxiety through the roof. Constantly checking my mouth and seeing random sores along with a very dry mouth have been making the anxiety even worse. I also get random headaches and my jaw is sore from time to time which is normal from what I've been reading in multiple posts. I have a doctors appointment next month where I'll get everything checked out to hopefully ease my mind a bit. From past experiences I'm just wondering generally how long it took for people to see sores on their tongue/elsewhere to go away. This site seems like a huge help for many, hope to find some support from some of you guys as well as support anyone in need. For me it seems to be more of a mental game than anything.. Let's kick the can in the ass fellas (and ladies)!

I don't know why new quitters get the sores and such in their mouths. But I do know it's common. My jaw was sore off and on for many of my first 100 days quit. It's almost certainly nothing to worry about, but definitely get it checked out to put your mind at ease.
To get the most out of this site, and some great support, get active with the March '17 group, and post roll. Posting roll is the backbone of the site.
Oh, and quitting on your own for 2 1/2 weeks is badass.

Thanks RDB, quitting 19 days is pretty badass when thinking back to myself last year throwing in dip after dip using the excuse that it'd help me focus or help with stress..just a sad excuse to keep dipping at the end of the day. From day 1 to 19 things have definitely gotten easier but from what I've been reading I still have a long road ahead..makes me wish I never started in the first place.
I can usually figure these type of things out but I'm real confused with the whole posting roll. I found the group I'm supposed to be in but I'm confused as to how it works/what it really is... Maybe I need to try on a laptop rather than my phone?

Stavi, I wish I never would have started dipping too as I'm sure 100% of people on this site feel the same. Yes we will be addicts for life but lets not think about that whole life thing, it's overwhelming. Let's choose to beat the living shit out of our addiction today! I quit with you today.

You're in the March 17 group get in there and post roll. Posting roll is our daily promise that we will not use nicotine in any form. It is how we hold each other accountable and is the reason this site works. Congrats on making it 19 days on your own but I can guarantee you will need the group at some point during your quit.

I joined weeks into my quit too Stavi. It is a lot better quitting with support from KTC brothers and sisters who "get" where you are, believe me. It is also a lot more fun. Glad to see you posted roll today. Proud to be quit with you today.
