Hey all, today is day 1 for me. Been a dipper since I was 16. Im 35 now. Quit a few times over the years with little success. Tried the patches, gum and non-tobacco dip. Even tried the Wellbutrin which was awful.

I had my annual VA check-up last Thursday and my doc gave me some Chantix. I started on it the next day and yesterday I finished up the last of my skoal. It took about 9 days to kick in but this stuff is amazing. I have lost all urge to dip and even thinking about it doesn't appeal to me.

So, day 1 and I have a good feeling about this one. I've only been nicotine free once in 18 years when I went thru boot camp 12 years ago. Worst thing I ever did was to start again.

Praire, great choice to quit! It sounds like you are ready to be free. Read everything on KTC and educate yourself about nicotine addiction, and the way we quit here. If you follow the plan laid out you will be quit. Thanks for your service to this country, and PM me if you need anything.

Good job Prairie! Now, go post roll over in "Quit Groups". You will be in the "September 2014" group. That is the month you will hit the Hall of Fame (100 days quit).

Welcome to the KTC family,  enjoy the suck. It gets better, I promise.

 PM if you need anything.

Drink plenty of water first week to flush your system. If you pass a bathroom without having to piss, you're not drinking enough water. Have your wife/girlfriend read the spouse support page so she gets it. Tell everyone in your circle of life that you are quitting. The greater a web of accountability you weave, the greater your chances of success. Read every corner of this site. Read the introductions. Read zillah cowboy's bad ass 150 day post. He's got it going on. Solidify your goal by reading the HOF 100 day quit posts. Be accountable by posting your vow to not use nic every day through post roll. Capture what day you are on and your promise to not use nic.

Most of all, don't let nic win. Stay strong and make is through the suck of the next few days. Need to chat, shoot me a PM.

Welcome! Get through that fog. The freedom on the other side is a beautiful thing!

PM me if you need anything or want my number.
-

still going strong. Havent been around here for a few days, but things are much better. Where do I start with this shit. You have been quit for 4 days and looks like you have yet to post roll. Its fucking pretty simple here we have only 2 rules 1- Post Roll Every Day 2-Don't use any form of Nicotine. If you want any chance of success I suggest you get with the program and follow the proven system for quitting like fuck. Read the welcome center, post roll, get some numbers and go to chat.

You are not a special butterfly sweet pea. Get with the program or hit the bricks

THAT IS ADDICT SPEAK, ESSENTIALLY YOU ARE SAYING FINE I AM GOING TO TAKE MY BALL AND GO HOME. Do not give yourself that easy out so you can go back to the bitch. Did you read the rest of my post???? We are here to help but you need to get with our program and quit the KTC way. We are extreme, we are successful and if you really want to be quit for good lets follow the program.

What do you say will you post roll with me every day? Can you make that commitment??

LETS GET INTO CHAT TOGETHER AND HASH THIS OUT!! YOU UP FOR IT?
-
This is the addiction playing its games with your mind Josh. You are going to take the easy way out?! Don't you see that you are giving yourself an excuse to cave. You have made it to day 4, and you are willing to throw it all away because your mind is playing tricks on you. Nicotine is one hell of a drug and can manipulate you into thinking "oh I can go back to using now because someone was mean to me online." E  C is telling you that there is a process to be successful, not be mean. He also showed his support by saying please message me and I will fight in your corner...

#1 Post roll EVERYDAY- this is your word to not use nicotine
#2 Honor your word to not use any form of nicotine
#3 Get with your quit brothers and sisters and hold each other accountable

It is simple and don't let the nic bitch back in your life.
-
I am not going back to nicotine.
I simply have realized i dont need to come on a website and post role everyday in order for me to quit.

Like i said before, sorry if i wasted anyones time. Its just not for me.

Spoken like a true addict that will want to post day 1 in about 5 years from now. The nic bitch will come knocking and will take control of your life if you let that happen. I believed that I was stronger than nicotine at one point as well. What a fool I was. I had no tools and no skills in staying quit. KTC gave me those tools and skills, and they are brotherhood + accountability = success

Just re-read your intro, and from the sounds of it you have it all figured out...I mean, because you've been so successful quiting nicotine in the past... right? Obviously you would know that you don't need to post roll every day because since the ripe age of 16 you've stopped dipping so successfully with the use of anti-depressants, Chantix, and all those other techniques.

I have some leftover humble pie from the last guy who thought they knew everything then caved. Got a slice of it all warmed up for you. Remember, you came here looking for our help. Our support.
