Well I'm just baout at the 10 day mark now and realized I haven't done a proper introduction. My name is Chris, I grew up in the Buffalo area and currently reside in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Yes, the tke in my name is for the fraternity. I guess I should've capitalized it so my name doesn't look like some variation of Christ. Anyway, I guess I started dipping around 10 years ago. Never really did it consistently, just here and there, and I always told myself I could quit whenever I wanted. Problem is, I guess I never wanted to quit bad enough. Sometime in the last couple years I started dipping more frequently and it started to become my crutch for dealing with stress at work. Even then, I would say I would go through maybe a can every 3-4 days at most. The last 6 months or so it started to get worse. I started chewing the Skoal pouches and I would easily go through 1 or 1.5 cans per day. I got my wisdom teeth taken out in January and I thought that would be what would make me quit. Wrong. 4 days later I had the shit back in my mouth, holes still in my gums. I can't tell you how many times in the past 6 months I've "quit" only to find myself standing in line at the 7/11 for another tin the next day. Anyway - I'm 9 days in and going strong. Would I still love a dip? Absolutely. But now, the reasons not to dip outweigh the reasons to. This would seem obvious to the casual observer, but as all of you can attest, you know when you're buying it, packing it, and lipping it that it's bad for you, but you find a way to rationalize it.
This website and community has been a godsend. I would not have made it more than a couple days without the accountability this community demands which was lacking on all my previous quit attempts. There is not a doubt in my mind that I have had my last dip and I actually look forward to the daily challenge of not caving, and proving to myself that I am stronger than the nic bitch.

Chris-
Great job on quitting. Great job on being active in your group.
You have to get out of this mindset: "Would I still love a dip? Absolutely."
It takes a lot of effort but you have to rewire your thought process. Nic would love for you to have a dip but Chris doesn't fucking do that shit anymore because it's a disgusting addiction that causes cancer and cancer from dipping isn't an acceptable way to die. That's why Chris would never like a dip. That's why Chris knows that there is no reason ever to put that shit in his lip again. Chris would hate to ever do that shit again. Chris loves being quit.
QUIT on Chris. PM me if I can ever be of help.

Thanks for sharing, Chris. I'm proud to quit with you. I understand "quitting" only to find yourself at the convenience store the next morning...in my case right when they open. I bet I did that 200 times over a couple decades...talk about screwing with your self esteem and building the guilt after so many fails. This time is my quit. Tomorrow is day 9, and I have no doubt that Thursday will be day 10, but at this point I'm trying not to think much past that. Hang in there brother. We got this together.

Chris 9 days in is a great quit so far... keep it up. You got through the real rough days not get ready for a slog. You won't be fighting as hard from here on out, but unfortunately you will still be fighting everyday....and that chinese water torture gets old real fast. But you are a Bills fan so you understand being tormented for long periods of time. I quit with you today.

Chris great decision to quit! Now start building your hate for the poison and its pushers at big tobacco! You would love another dip?!? Just one more dip would likely send you back to the can harder than ever. You want to be a slave again? You want to pay the soul-less murdering drug lords at big tobacco for the poison? I don't think you do. Build your rage and stop romanticizing the poison.
Keep reading KTC, drink lots of water, exercise, stay active here, and keep a record of your quit in this intro. You will want to remember this fight because you never want to go through it again. PM me if you need anything or if you make your way to the Ralph for a game ever (I go to all the games). QLF with you all day.

Look at how far you have come, buddy. Fucking outstanding quitting with you!

It's amazing how easy it is to forget what day you're on. My first thought when I wake up is to post roll. I never stop to think what day it is... just that I need to be quit one more day. The good thing is there are quite a few of us in November with the same day. The bad thing is, if I'm first to post I'm probably just guessing.
Anyway, proud to be quit with you and all of November.

Here we are at 247 days of quit. Proud to still be here with you Chris. One day at a time!
