Title: 3rd day
Post by: Hadji1990 on April 27, 2012, 02:21:00 PM
Hi everyone,

My name is Rich. Today is my first day signed up on here. I am looking for just general instruction on how the site works and where and when I can post. I began smoking at age 19 also in that same year I began occasionally dipping. Around february I quit smoking except for an occasional cigarette and I do enjoy a cigar once a week since 18 ( this does not provide a trigger for me) and got hooked on dipping. On Monday April 27th will be the start of my quit date. I plan on using nicorette gum as needed by instructions on the product and also sugar free candy and gum. I am looking forward to using this site as an additional aide in the quitting process. I am also looking forward to meeting everyone.

Thank you

Ditch the nicorette gum, suck up the nicotine withdrawls for a few days and you'll be free from the physical addiction.

Then the real fun starts 'bang head'

Get rid of nicorette. Let you body take the time to heal and get used to not having nicotine. It will make your QUIT that much stronger.

Welcome, by the way, if you haven't go post roll and promise not to use nicotine for today. Take it one day at a time and own your quit. PM me if i can help in anyway.

Buddy Mac.

C-bird gave you all the good stuff to know, follow his instructions.

So today is my 3rd day nicotine free, the fog isnt as bad as the past two days, in fact I am pretty with it today; but the cravings are worse today. I have been using nicotine replacement gum, sugarefree lifesavers and sugar free peach trident gum. What are some other ways of beating cravings. I have considered using the fake stuff but I am afraid that will persuade me to get the real stuff so my goal is to avoid that.

This is a nicotine free site. That means no nictotine. How can you have cravings when you're still feeding the bitch? Throw that gum away, suck up the withdrawls for a few days, and then the physical addiction will be gone. After that it's just mind games (which suck but not as bad as the nic withdrawls).

I use the fake stuff and it does work but it is up to you. Smokey Mount or Hooch seem to be the best.

Drink lots of water, read and post, exercise

That is my 2 cents

Avoid the fake stuff if possible. Just get past the physical addiction and then you can start on the mental side. This is a great site, use it and you will be successful..

A lot of differing opinions about fake dip. My favorite - use whatever the hell keeps you from using nicotine. Personally, I picked up a can on day 30-ish during a funk and burned through it like a madman. After a short period of time - it becomes obvious that I was not getting from it (the buzz) that my body expected, so I just naturally tapered off its use. I still have a can around, and occasionally use it.

And Hadj, - you need to man-up and answer people about the nicotine - gum use. Close that chapter and put it to bed with your quit group. When is the last day that you used ANY form of nicotine?

You are not Nicotine free if you are using Nicotine replacement gum. This is a NIC free site so you cannot post roll until you toss the gum as well. Nicotine is Nicotine in any form, smoked, dipped, chewed, snorted, gum, suppositories whatever.. they are all Nic delivery systems.

Toss the gum, post a day 1 and get your quit on. Up to you...

Would it be okay to use Smokey Mountain as a form to beat the cravings, as I progress the cravings are miserable. My fear is that using the fake products will lead me back to the dreadful habit. Has anybody used or been using the alternative choices.

Do what you gotta do to keep the nicotine out!!! The fake dip has really helped me in my quit. Those that are strong enough to quit without it, more power to ya. But I use it often. From what I've been told, one day I'll stop reaching for the fake stuff without even realizing it. Just all of a sudden won't need it anymore.

If you get out there and read all you can you'll see a lot of quitters use alternative they are ok as long as they have 0 (zero) no nicotine. Some view anything a crutch, other decide to use alternatives. My opinion both are right what works to keep you nicotine free is the goal.

Each person is different. If it helps you remain quit then by all means go for it. I dipped the fake just like the real shit for the first 300 or so days, then I just stopped needing it. There is nothing in it that is addictive so you will just naturally stop using it.

STAY QUIT
Greg

I will say this use the fake stuff as long as you want and as much as you want!!

This is tough and any advantage you can use such as fake dip will help you!

There are many kinds out there but the best for my money has been smokey mountain wintergreen.

I didnt even try to use the fake shit til I was past my 50 days mainly cause in times past the texture of the fake shit really didnt appeal to me......

At first it was Winterfresh gum and Altoids....

Now I use Smokey Mountain when I coach or do outside kind of stuff it really is a good way to fake my brain out.

Stay Quit!!!

PM me if you need numbers or any help bro.
