Hi all, my name is Mike and i have dipped for 20 years. I am currently quit for two days, first two days in 20 years without having a dip. Surprisingly the first two days have gone quite well. My story, well my girlfriend of 8 years recently split up and that was an indication that it was time to quit. I am not saying i am doing this for her, but it was her that gave me the kick in the ass to start living. Long story short I lost my mother to cancer and I hit a rut with a long battle with depression. I think the depression was caused by the dip. I never wanted to do anything besides sit in the basement alone and chew. I remember the day i took my first dip and wish so badly that i could go back to that day and just say no.
Just a couple of questions, i assume my quit group will be July? And also I am from Canada, is there any other Canadians on here?

Welcome! You are in the July13 quit group. And what is this "Canada" of which you speak? We'll have to look into that. In the meantime....
Post up with the July group - get you promise out there and take nic off the table as even an option.
Like Scott says, read everything you can and get involved.

I did something wrong with roll today, help?
1 it appears you tried to copy instead cutting - try this:
Hit quote
click in lower box and hit Control A then Control X
click in upper box and hit Control V
There are two groups that post on this page -your group is in the upper tier and the supporters - me and others post below you
post your name day quit and blurb
now scroll down a little and hit add reply
2 you need to add your promise mlzy15 day X blah blah blah

Yo mizymike,
Try the TEST THREAD (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=345&st=0#entry22556954), which is in the non-dipping discussions/wildcard thread. You can do a practice post all you want, and it doesn't matter what you screw up. BTW, it doesn't matter what you screw up in the JULY12 group either. It will get fixed.
Try the test thread to get your posting mojo down pat and distract from the fog.
