I don't normally post on internet forums.
I NEVER use a username that resembles my real name, nor do I ever give out any info about myself.
My name is Derek, and I live in Ogden, Utah. I've been a smoker and chewer for 16 years.
Sunday will be my first nicotine-free day since then. My mouth already hurts from sunflower seeds. :P
See y'all at roll call tomorrow morning.

I felt strange at first giving out my information to people I do not know. But this site is based on accountability. You get to know your brothers in your group and you will get to know many others on here. I have made it a point to actually get out and meet some of these bad ass quitters in real life.
As I travel I will meet more and more. The more active and accoutable you are the better your chances of success. Now get to posting roll and lets get you quit.

Greg is right!!!! This group is different. We are all helping each other do the hardest thing most of us have ever done!!! I was skeptical about getting involved on an "impersonal" internet site. All I wanted to do was quit a bad habit. But this is NOT a social networking site like facebook. I have met about 20 quitters on this site in my two year involvement and I would be letting all of them down if I ever caved. Besides quitting tobacco I have grown a lot personally over the last two years. Being totally involved has made me accountable and has kept me quit! Don't be afraid to get involved. You get out what you put in to this site. Welcome to the Suck! You can DO this one day at a time. Post you promise each day in the November quit group.

hey, thanks guys. I appreciate the support!
Luke -- Plan, plan, plan. Get substitutes -- Seeds, Altoids, toothpicks, what have you. Don't say you're TRYING to quit, say that you ARE quitting. Talk to the fellas here. My Day 1's been tough but nothing unmanageable.
