So, there we were, 2 against 1,000, and we both got our asses kicked :)
August, 1990 - the beginning of this assinine addiction. 22 1/2 years later, countless $1,000s down the drain, and now I have to put up with feeling punch drunk until the fog lifts. Damn right. Did it to myself then, have to do it to myself now.
I live in Columbus, OH, but am originally from Rochester, NY. I'm now married going on 6 years. Have two great little girls (2 1/2, 7 months). 42 years old.
Working as a Sales Exec for a technology company, I've finally had enough of trying to figure out how to keep a small dip wedged back in my cheek during a presentation (can't go 2 hours w/out a dip), going to company meetings and keeping my can of Timber Wolf in my sock so the big wigs didn't see it in my pocket. I'm done. Can't believe that I was deluded enough to think that was ok.
More importantly, I've had enough of having a big "growth" in my lip during all the pictures with the little ones.
God sent me here on this search - there truly is a reason for everything. Faith in Him, in all of you, and myself will get me through this. Hard part is done - deciding it was time - now the harder part of staying quit is upon me.
Looking forward to life without tobacco. Been a long time......

Ha. You sound like a spitting image of myself. I'm an IT guy and i've been hiding that chew in the back of my cheek at work for way too long. Thought I was the only one. Always kept the tin stuffed in my sock. I look forward to going through the suck with you. See you at roll call tomorrow.

The hardest part was making the decision. Now just live by it. Your mind frame is good. A little bit of temporary discomfort for a lifetime of freedom is a good trade.
You got this

Your story sounds much like mine. I'm finishing up my 7th day after 18 yrs of addiction, deceit, and lies. You can do this. It gets better. Embrace the suck now so you'll remember how bad it was when you have that craving. I know I'm only a week into my quit but I know this: everything that you thought was so great to do while dipping is so much better without dip. I'm in the may quit group with you. Post roll, pm me if you need anything, I got your back.

Agree, making the decision to quit is the hardest part. None of my other attempts to quit succeeded because that decision hadn't really been made! One day at a time my friend, it works. If you need anything I'll be here just shout out.

hey TheGolfBallKid,
Good to see another slave taking back his freedome.
Get ready for the ride of your life. Nothing miraculous about it, just very hard daily work and commitment with a bunch of nicotine ADDICTS.
Watch out for Loot. he might be ghey! The best quitter in the world are here with you, one day at a time.
just so you know...1 i.t. problem + nicotine = 2 problems
Cheers and Welcome. 'bang head'

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Have to say, I'm happier than a pig in slop this morning. Had wings and a couple of beers with my wife last night while watching the UK game and....
NOTHING!
Didn't bother me. Had my typical urge to put in a fatty first thing in the morning, but posted Roll, put in a Lifesaver and on my way.
Now I know I'll do this.
Enjoy the game today!
