Title: 24 hours in
Post by: b_shcoka on August 12, 2014, 01:48:00 PM
Hello all,
As of right now it's been about 24 hours since I last put nicotine into my body. It is going better than expected, but that's why I'm here. As a recovering alcoholic, I've been sober for 4 years. I know that the moment you think you've got it licked and let your guard down, is the moment you slip up.

I smoked for several years, but after watching my Dad die of lung cancer I decided to quit. When it got tough I would throw in a dip. Obviously it didn't take long to start chewing full time. Basically replaced one with the other (genius plan, I know). A year and half later, here I am. Last night was tough, but today hasn't been too bad so far. I know it's a long battle and I look forward to learning and venting with you guys.

Welcome b_shcoka to regaining your freedom. Find your quit group and get plugged in. This is where you grind through the hard days and build a brotherhood. In your quit group you will post roll every day and as early as possible. Posting roll is your promise to yourself and your quit group that you will not use tobacco that day. Read all you can and learn how tobacco works and develop a hatred for it. Glad you found KTC and more importantly glad to be quit with you today

Good job friend. You'll find a lot of geniuses around here, starting with me. This genious poisoned himself for 25 years before finally coming to ktc and realizing that i didn't want to be a genius any more.

Have you posted roll yet. If not go to the welcome ceter and read how and why post roll. Pay particular attention to why. A little schooling at ktc and you will be a genious of quitting instead of a genious in idiotology .

Glad to have you bro. Need anything give a shout.

Excellent choice, b_shcoka. I'm quit with you today, my 8th day, and it's gradually improving. Hang in there. You need this - we all do.
