Title: Day 1
Post by: Kchad90 on December 06, 2016, 11:26:00 AM
So today is day 1 of my quit. Kind of confused as to what group I belong in as I'm new to all of this. I like hunting, fishing, and camping. I work overnights so hopefuly there will be some support late at night if needed!

Welcome KChad, make this the best decision you've ever made. You are in the March 2017 Group...get in there introduce yourself and post roll.

Welcome to KTC KChad.

Glad to see you're ready to kick the habit.

I don't work overnight but I work late. I sent you a PM.

Welcome chad! Post roll and get this addiction under control. Read up and you will read story after story how we're all addicts and almost every one fails in their attempts to quit without help. This addiction is horrific and damn near impossible to beat alone, post roll EDD and you will never be alone. I quit with you today!

Today, your life changed for the better. Get ready for the suck. 3 days of quit hell. This is what separates the quitters from the cavers. You have to make it through the first 3 days, they are the hardest. Read intros and stay connected to the KTC site. When I quit 197 days ago, I lived on this site just to get me through. It's gonna be tough, but you got this!!! We have all been where you are now and understand what you are about to go through. We've got your back. Other guys in your March group are gonna reach out. Exchange digits. It will save your life. Make it happen. It really is life or death. Me reaching out to you is what the prior quitters did for me. PM me if you need digits. WUPP- wake up, piss, post. EDD - every damn day

Day 25 - Just reflecting back on my quit a bit.

Days 1 - 3 all I could think about was chewing.
Days 4 - 6 severe stomach cramps
Days 7 - 10 Rage
Days 11 - 25 Hardly ever have cravings...However, as a true addict once said, the NIC bitch never dies, she only hides. I remind myself of this every day, because forgetting about the NIC bitch is her secret weapon, and the fastest way to using again!

Another huge tip I received when in the early stages of my quit was to embrace everything to do with my quit as it came...I.e. the suck, the fog, the rage, the mind games. Embrace them and never forget!

Stay strong, there are hurdles yet to come. They always come, so have a plan, and make sure other quitters have your digits.

Day 126

Haven't been in my intro in awhile. Thank you for all the kind words everyone. I have seen members fall to the wayside due to group drama. One must wonder if that is the case or if they were looking for an excuse to stop posting.

100 really is a magical number. It doesn't mean that you are cured. It marks a small milestone in a quitters journey. To some its an achievement, to others it is a small stepping stone, and to other it is a means to an end. I can't tell you how many people have left or fallen into negative posting patterns after hof.

If you are a new quitter and reading this....

Don't be one of those guy/girls who disappears at 100, there is no such thing as a 100 day cure.

If you are a vet reading this....try to help people beyond 100.

Day 344 - Almost a full lap around the sun. Who would have thought I'd still be quit? Quit 1 day at a time each and every day. Post up early and if someone doesn't post in your group, seek them out.

It is amazing to see just how many people fall from the bandwagon around day 100 and the immediate days following.

As a side note, it is nice to see old members still popping in once in awhile to let us know that they are still quit. Even at day 344 I am still learning and I can say that there is a lot of great quit advice that circulates around this site. I find it crazy that people walk away from that so quickly.

Thanks everyone, I truly appreciate.
I owe you all and KTC my life.
You have all taken part in saving me.
I can't thank you enough.

Also, I said I'd have an answer at 365.
I think the implied answer is make it another year one day at a time. Also, I think it is time to try to give back more. So, time to help a new batch of quitters! Never get complacent.

400 Today.
Never thought I'd make it this far.
Looking back I only have 1 regret.
I should have quit sooner.

I'm just glad I figured it out with the help of Ktc and the wonderful people who make it happen each and every day.
