My name is anthony. I have been dipping for five years and finally said I'm done with dip. The hard part about quitting is that I work in a chem plant where everyone either smokes or dips. I have tried to quit in the past but fail but this time is different I have a little girl and I want to be a good father for her!!! STAY QUIT

First lesson this quit has to be for you and you alone all the other reasons are motivators but the quit has to belong to you. Welcome. Yes this shit is hard. Especially at first, but not impossible. If a douche like me can quit after 15 years, anybody can.
Its great you quit with your daughter in mind, but that will only get you so far.
You need to quit for you and you only.
You will need to get small. You will need go grind days out hour by hour, or even minute by minute. You will need to be selfish, focusing soley on your quit, especially in the beginning. Fuck those people at your work. You're smarter than them, you're quitting, they are not. Don't be envious, feel sorry for them
You're daughter will be a great motivator, but ultimately it will be you and your balls that determine if this quit sticks.
Oh yeah...you also have US. We have walked in your shoes. We will help you every step of the way. Doing this shit is hard as hell. Doing it alone...even harder.
My suggestion...post role daily, make connections in your quit group , and READ. Read every little thing you can. Intros, Hof speeches, words of wisdom, Tom and Jenny Kern story, etc...Also jump in chat. There's a lot of great people there who will not only help you but keep you entertained.
There's a bunch more I could tell ya but right now just focus on waking up tomorrow, posting roll and promising not to use nicotine. Sounds simple enough, right?

Nicotine is one of the hardest DRUGS to quit, don't let it kick your ass! As far as all the dumb ass users around you in time you will look at them with putty that they are slaves like you once was. Stick close to the site and make your daily promise. Get numbers and call on them when your cravings hit.

I'm finding day 3 is harder than 2, partly because I'm off work but hopefully you are still off the chew, and feeling good. Staying busy will help and I'm looking for people to talk to and chores to do, reading and exercise. Good luck to you and keep the thread going, you don't have to make a new one for each day!

Hello Anthony,
Congratulations on your choice to quit. Obviously you think you quit for your daughter, but I get the feeling YOU have been thinking about it for some time. Otherwise you wouldn't have found this site. I know it's hard to quit and staying quit is even harder. I am 7 days quit and I will tell you the first few days are the hardest, but for me as the days roll on the easier it gets. Just take it ONE DAY AT A TIME. Remember, all your co-workers may be dippers and smokers, but just think about what they're doing to themselves. Also, you may become inspiration to them and get them to consider a healthier lifestyle. Become a roll model.

Hang in there, Anthony! Chemical plant or not, you're an addict. That means that the Nic Bitch is with you no matter where you go.
But, you can control your addiction...like everyone on this site is doing. Take it one day at a time. Don't get ahead of yourself. Live in the present and embrace the suck...that is the feeling of healing, brother!
