Title: Finally; From quitting to quitter
Post by: jtarms45 on January 13, 2012, 08:49:00 AM
Now it is OFFICIAL, I am a QUITTER...
I have been "quitting" all week. Now I am finally across the wire and feel good about it. I have been dipping for a little over 30 years. Started out early since somewhere in 4th grade, watched all my childhood heros dipping so of course I had to do it. Next thing I know I'm 40 years young and have been a Marine for over 20 years, got two young kids and an addiction.
I'll quit rambling now, the "fog" is pretty intense. I am excited to quit, and I think this forum is going to be a HUGE help.

Get up, post roll, stay quit, repeat.

It really is that simple. Not easy, but simple.

Welcome.

OOh Rah! The only way you will fail is if you give up. Since surrender is not a part of the Marine vocabulary, I look forward to reading your HOF speech. Now hunker down and get to quittin.

PS the coffee packets in the MRE will work in a pinch to satisfy that craving. But I bet you already knew that.

You got this. Accountability to eachother makes it work. We post roll first thing each morning and give our word that we will not use nicotine for that day. Tomorrow, repeat.

Stay quit. Live.

Great choice, brother. Embrace the fog...it is the feeling of recovery. Feel it, remember it. Also, rambling helped I thought. One of the best things I did was ramble. My wife doesn't understand addiction (she's very supportive, but she is way smarter than my dumb-ass and didn't get addicted to nicotine). My kids were/are too young to talk to. So, it was just me and the badass quitters on this site.

You've taken the first step, we're here for the rest. We don't let each other down. So, embrace freedom and kick the Nic Bitch's ass one day at a time.
