Title: 60 hours in
Post by: georgiaquit on June 24, 2014, 12:08:00 PM
My name is Luke, and I had my last dip at 12:15 am on 6/22. My addiction started out in college while I hung out with friends, and slowly turned into something I was always doing.

Sitting on the couch Saturday night/ Sunday morning, I came to the realization that I need to quit. What I was doing was going to eventually kill me. I sat there and thought about how hard it would be, but how I need to do it for myself and my family. I then took all of the dip I had and flushed it down the toilet.

I am now 60 hours into my quit and I am begging to struggle. I can't focus on anything, everything seems like it is moving slower. But, I know that anything worth doing is never easy, and this is just part of the process.

Welcome to freedom! You have to earn it, but it feels so good you can't imagine! And you get glimpses early on. Just get through the hard stuff for now. Learn all you can about the addiction, and make friends here for support and accountability. Those are the secrets to success. It's really quite simple, though it's not easy.
First, start out by posting roll. Every day from now on. That's the cornerstone.

Glad to be quit with you!

Congrats on making a great choice, GA!!! 60 hours is huge. And yes, I know it sucks right now. But compare this to how it would feel to be 60 post-cancer diagnosis. Not so bad, huh?

Post roll and read all you can. YOU GOT THIS!!!

"Georigiaquit" - why didn't I think of that??

Welcome, sir. There will be some tough days. Make some friends and get some contacts. Those are your lifelines. FInd some folks who have some commonalities.

There are a bunch of us scattered around Georgia. Reach out, brother.

Shoot me a PM if you need anything at all.
