Hi,
I am 43 year old, from India. I was a smoker then turned to tobacco dip. Hard habit. Planning to quit slowly from 8-9-16, my elder sons birthday . Expecting your support and love. :)

slowly quit would be when started dipping to quit smoking now quitting dip would be like a guy at work i know who has these mento looking things that have nic in them and they help to "curve his cravings for a dip" (while he still chews a can a day)........................
COLD TURKEY

No such thing as gradual. Just kill it now! You've got all the support you need right here.

Cold turkey is the only way! Sack up, be a man. It's hard but so what. If you want support quit now throw all your dip down the toilet, and learn to post roll! The love and support will follow. I quit with you today!

The story of tomorrow....... Do you know how many tomorrows I have had? How many birthday presents to myself, how many New Year's resolutions, how many gambles with God as long as my dental appointment came back clean? 1 - you cannot quit for anyone else but yourself. It just won't work. As much as you want to believe you are that determined and that dedicated to that person, your addiction will win every time. You have to quit for yourself. 2 - if you wait you are only planning for failure. Cold turkey is what works for all of us. All of us have been there, all of us understand, and all of us will be here with you, but for us and to empower our own quits. It makes us stronger to help you battle. Now is the time, do not gamble with your life, do not take any more risk, do not allow nicotine to control you.

Some good words so far in this thread. Not sure what more i can add.
I am not so sure how quitting works in India, but everywhere else in the world and every country, planned quits don't work. And cutting down slowly, uhhh No! That is like telling me you are quitting drinking but instead of Whiskey, you are going to drink wine for 2 months first, then after 2 months you will quit wine and drink nothing but beer. See what i am saying?
If you want to quit, quit. Don't try to ease in to anything. Man up and do it. it is going to suck, but such is life. Life sucks sometimes and somehow we as humans have an uncanny way of making things suck even worse! Give up the nic and it will be out of your body in 3 days. So sucky, shitty days for 3 days. Then the suck is still gonna suck but in a different kind of way. It is all mental after that. it is how you embrace the suck that matters. Don't forget what it feels like. Why would you ever decide to go through that again?
Drink water, get exercise. Do what you have to just don't use any nicotine. No cigs cigars, no dip or leaf tobaccos or snuff (powder nic you inhale). No lozenges, no patches no nothing. The price for admission to our site is you be nic free and post roll every day. As long as you have nic running through you, I'll not support you. When you give it up, look me up. I'll walk step by step with you.
Take care!
