Hey guys... I'm Athena and I've been chewing tabacco for a little over 4 years now... This drug has taken over my life, my relationship, my work ethics and everything involved including my health. A few nights ago, I tried to quit cold turkey but within a few hours I felt rage, anger, frustrated, annoyed, blurriness, dimness in vision and I was throwing all my anger out on people that had no idea what was going on (which was partially my fault for not having a support system). I ended up buy a can and the very moment I bought another can I realized that I was being controlled by this drug... So today, I start my quitting process... It's already really hard right now but I'm prepared... I now have a wonderful support system and I'm ready to let this nasty habit go.

Quit buying another can Athena, your not addicted AND dumb are you? Look, all that rage blurry blah blah crap comes with it. It wont go on forever, it will get easier. I dipped for 15 years and quit cold turkey, and there are thousands more on this site quitting along side each other. Its time to quit. Deal with the problems, you did it to yourself. All that being said, welcome aboard and yes, we have an awesome support group here. I quit with you Athena, through thick and thin, you got this.
Also, picking your nose or scratching your ass is a habit..... Nicotine is a drug. Thats a fact. You are an addict.

Like my man WG said, you are an addict and everything you said in your intro wreaks of it. Don't worry, every single one of us here is an addict and we all said the same type of stuff when we first got here. With that said, you obviously know from experience that quitting isn't easy, and I'm here to tell you it aint. You're going to need to dig deep and prove that your word is bond. Post roll and promise to not use nicotine for that day. Become accountable for your actions. Create friendships and bonds to hold you to your word and keep you accountable. Do this every day, one day at a time. When that rage comes, post on your thread. Jump into the chat room. Take it out on us. So there you have it. The quit basics. Keep reading all that there is on this site and quit with us full steam ahead.

What is your quit process you referred to? There is only one process that works
1. Post roll with you quit group (August 2014)
2. Don't use nicotine in any form that day.
3. The next day post another day and keep your promise
You have not posted roll yet. Your quit process sucks and won't work.

No crap - first 3-5 suck. A lot. Slug through, post roll. I'll be looking for you in roll tomorrow. Btw, using Athena (Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, and strength) is really strong - but that's a helluva lot to say not to drink the koolaid and quit. Post up today

Welcome Athena. Get in and read the welcome center. It tells you why/how we post ROLL. You are in the right place to quit. We have all been in your seat. However, it takes some action on your part and it will start with you posting ROLL today and committing to quitting today.
