I flushed the last of the tin I had this morning and crushed the can. I have wanted to quit for a long time. I am not a heavy user anymore. I cling to my evening dip though. Every morning I get up and say that last night was it and then the next night rolls around. Tonight will be different. I am changing my routine so in hopes that it will help. I just want to give it up for good and help other do the same.
It's good to be here and I know I have some reading to do on the site tonight to learn what to do. I'm ready!

cwbcpa,
I would like to welcome you to KTC. You will find that there is lots of useful information here to help you break the chains of addiction, but you need to want to do this all for yourself. I thought I would offer you some direct links to items to help speed and ease your searches.
Welcome to KTC, you appear to have your mind made up to quit for you. If I may add a couple of things that in my opinion can make or break your quit (all items below with underlined words are links to different areas on KTC or referenced, all safe)
1. Your girlfriend/spouse/sig. other, well their support is critical and she deserves to understand more what you are going through, so see the following link and hell print it or e-mail it to her to read Spousal Support (http://www.killthecan.org/community/spousal-support/)
2. Read this for yourself to make sure you fully know what to expect What to expect when you quit (http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/what-to-expect-when-you-quit-dipping/); some days are better then others, then eventually all days are better
3. Read the stories on here at KTC, the Kern story is a tear jerker and though you want to be around for your kids this will reinforce it dramatically, Kern's Story (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1008859/1/); then there are these words spoken by a man who lost his brother to this stupid shit Sean Marsee (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1009362/1/#new), damn I wish he would have talked at my middle school.
4. Find an alternative and keep it on you at all times. There will be times when going to the Convenience Store and getting a soda or anything else can cause one lapse in judgment and lead to a huge mistake. Don't be that guy, be the guy with Testicular Fortitude.
5. Find a couple of other quitters and exchange numbers with them, if you need another please PM me and let's do this.
6. Remember that you are an addict, 100 days is a milestone not a goal; the goal is a lifetime being free from the nic bitch. Get pissed off at big tobacco and the dangers they put you in.
7. Remember that you are the one who caused you to be an addict, so don't let anger get outside of your control. It is no one else's fault that you got here. Your family will only support you if you are not an asshole.
8. Drink lots of water, may also consider changing your eating lifestyle/diet, shit changes after the weed is out of your system. Exercise is also a huge help.
Now, learn How to post roll (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1003072/1/#new), then go post roll with your fellow Titans - Pre HOF October 2014 (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/10359552/263/#new)
If there is anything I can do to assist you further, please feel free to send me a PM and let me help you.

Well, the evening has rolled around. Where are you? Why didn't you post roll?
Read Pinched's post and go post roll call giving your word not to use nicotine today. Get up in the morning and make your promise again. You can do this. Let's get it done.
-
The routine you need to change is quit putting that shit in your face. Simple enough!
-
Hey fella, Why no promise? Read up, post up or shut up. Time's a wastin'.
-
Hey everyone! Thank you for the encouragement. No chew last night and there won't be one today either! I promise! Trying to figure out how to post roll call right now.
-
Did anyone PM you their number. Check your inbox. Mine will be in there as well as instructions for posting roll with the Titans of Quit!! Congrats on your decison to quit.

Read the link above that I posted for you. It explains it well. Otherwise:
1- click on group page
2- go to latest post
3- then click quote in the lower right corner
4- New window will appear, copy text from lower text box, into upper text box
5- add your name to the list of quitters (in the middle)
6- delete the previous post (lower text box)
7- hit post

Thank you. I think I got it right. I was nervous about screwing it up for everyone else. If I did something wrong someone can please let me know. I do appreciate all the encouraging words and experiences from this community. I found that the best thing for me last night was to just lay down and go to sleep. I had a rough day yesterday so it made going to sleep easy. Tonight will bring it's own challenge I am sure. I am ready though because I promised not to give in. I will not give in today.

Thank you. I am kicking this bitch ass habit. I have been on this site a number of times in the last few years, but was too chicken shit to join. Not anymore. This is for me this time. I want to help others along the way as well. I don't want to let anyone down including myself. It's time to get it done and be done.
Thank you again!

Are you a CPA? Because that would be cool. I hear all CPA's have huge cranks, and QLF daily. That's what I hear.

LOL. Thanks Thumblewort. I appreciate the laugh. I am a cpa.
I survived another night. I woke up with a sore or blister or something on the end of my tongue. Thanks to this site I was expecting that at some point. Other than that I feel great. It's nice not to have the guilt and regret in the morning. Yes, I am still talking about chewing. ;)

That... Might be the weirdest conversation trifecta I've ever heard of.

Today is day 3. For the first time in the three days I was tempted. I had to get gas and I stopped at my usual gas station out of habit. Guess what else I buy at that station? Well, not anymore! I got my gas, paid and drove off. It felt great! It was a realization that I have made a change. I am not that person anymore. Today, I was a quitter. Knowing that I am not alone makes a big difference. I have been on this forum so many times and never signed up because I thought I could do it on my own. Now I know I don't have to.
I read through the Kern's story today. That was rough to read, but it really drove home what this shit does and is capable of doing. I have reminded myself of what could happen for years, but it took until Tuesday July 22, 2014 for me to say ENOUGH! I am so glad I am here. I know I have said it a lot in a couple days, but I appreciate everyone here so much. Most of you don't even know that you have helped me. I just read posts and find encouragement. Thank you to all of you. STAY QUIT!!!!!!!!
