Hey Black -- good to see you on KTC. A few tips:

1. If you want to avoid getting some shit, and you're serious, then remember: you've stopped before. And then started again. (and then if you're me, stopped and started a few more times). Now you're QUIT. You only QUIT once. Because now you'll be promising each day that you will not use tobacco, smokes, dip, chew, snuff, patches, nic gum, or nicotine in ANY form.

2. Go and make that promise. Here at KTC we keep ourselves and our quit brothers / sisters accountable by posting roll. You'll be in the December quit group. You can check it out here. topic/10503924/197/#new (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/10503924/197/#new)

3. Everyone here will bend over backward to help you — once you post roll and make that promise.

The best advice I got was in the first response to my intro from Ginet: DON'T PUT THAT SHIT IN YOUR MOUTH. That's the only thing you've got to do, brother. Take it one day at a time, and DON'T PUT IN A DIP. Congratulations — I quit with you today.

Thanks for the advice canless, I found a non nicatine/tobacco snuff, so that helps some, I added my name to the roll call for the December hof, this is the time I quit

Rock on man! I couldn't have made it this far without my jerky. Everyone's got their own substitute. As long as it's not dip, it'll do the trick.

Looking forward to seeing your name tomorrow. PM me if you ever need anything.

Welcome Center is your find for early tips. Drink plenty of water. Then drink more. Find a suitable oral fix replacement. Read, read, read every corner of this site. Especially the first few days.

Welcome! You will never regret this decision.

Great choice and continue being vigilant. Whenever the addiction calls you back stay close to the site and your fellow quitters.

Stay Strong, brother! You got this and we are all right here beside you!

When you get a chance be sure to read as much as you can in the Words of Wisdom section. That really helped me solidify my resolve to quit in the first few days / hours.

Check you PMs for more digits!

BH,
Fight through that shit. One hour at a time. Three days you'll be past the chemical addiction and its all mental from there out. Get through these days. When the nic bitch sneaks up on you, get pissed and put your foot directly in her ass. Seeds, fake stuff, dum dums, whatever you need to keep your pie hole busy while you get past the chemical pull. I dipped Cope snuff for 30 years and Im about to join the HOF. You can do this if I did this. I DOES GET EASIER. I heard all this stuff 94 days ago and thought the HOF was so far away. Nope, its on you before you know it. IF you are determined, the suck sucks less. You found KTC, you introduced yourself and now you're in. These quitters will have your back at all times. You need support, holler. There will be a swarm of bad ass quitters on you to pick you up.

You got this.

Joe

Kill it, man. The exhaustion, achy gums, and just general overall feeling of sheer shittyness will pass, in time. Read up around here as much as possible. When I was in your place, I think I spent every spare moment on KTC just doing nothing more than browsing around, reading about other quitters' struggles, reading funny threads, and mostly time-wasting...but what I wasn't doing was stuffing my lip. This place and its Kool-Aid tastes good to me. Drink up.

Each and everyday you need to make the conscious decision to not just quit dipping, but more specifically to take back control of my life. I wanted to quit dipping for the last 20+ years. I wanted to take control for 443 days. No better way of keeping accountability than posting roll. You have to decide daily what is tougher your will or your addiction. Good luck

You've got the weekend coming up. Not sure if you are off on weekends but hoping you are. LOTS of idle time. Feel it smartly. I remember being on KTC whenever I started remotely thinking about chew or having craves. At night when I couldn't sleep I would take the laptop downstairs and just read. I'd go into older groups, words of wisdom, HOF speeches, just about anything to keep my mind off chew. Chat room works as well. Gut it out dude.

I generally work 6 days a week, which is both a blessing ( keeps me busy and preoccupied) and a curse ( work is my main stressor
