Hi, my name is Casey. I quit dipping on Veteran's day last week. I have been doing this nasty habit for 11 years. I have dipped over 3500 cans. The biggest reason that I quit is that my teeth aren't as white as they once were. I just woke up and decided to not dip ever again. I keep a can with me all the time just to show myself that it is a mental game and I will win. I just remind myself that the feelings that I have to dip again are not real. I just figured now is a good time to reinvent my life. I had my gallbladder removed four weeks ago, broke up with my girlfriend five weeks ago, quit one of my jobs six weeks ago, and am moving is four weeks. The part that I am finding difficult is trying to stay on my diet. Twenty five pounds down and seventy five to go.
Control the can. Don't let the can control you.

I keep a can with me all the time just to show myself that it is a mental game and I will win

DUMP the can. Any you have, empty them.
I quit with you and will support you as long as you quit.
You can do this!

Welcome Casey, we call that a trophy can. It's a crutch, an out. When you throw that out and get yourself on roll call, you start the process of freedom. You'll also find some rooms within these hallowed halls to help with any personal goal you can come up with. No joke, man. We're all in.

Casey, please accept some stern advice from an addict that dipped longer than you've been alive. You've been given such good advice already and I'm gonna echo it. DUMP THAT CAN!!! Post roll NOW and early EVERY DAY!! Get it I your head that dipping isn't anything like picking your nose, it's an addiction not a habit! All the changes you have made and are planning in your life are great but none of them can be compared in seriousness or difficulty with stopping nicotine. You might say that you can prove all of us wrong and do it your way but, why not listen to proven ways? The odds of doing it your way are poor at best.
The biggest reason that I quit is that my teeth aren't as white as they once were.
That's a fair reason to quit but let me share some of my story; I dipped for over 40 years and lost most of my molars, had multiple gum grafts. In fact last week after being quit for over 1300 days I lost another tooth.
I hear concern and desire but I don't hear understanding of what your dealing with.

Every time I think about this story tears come to my eyes. There's plenty of motivation there for myself just to think about that.

Apparently wanting white teeth is not a powerful enough motivator! 'Crazy'
Maybe when those yellow teeth start falling out you will be ready.
We will be here when you decide to get serious.
