It's been 48 hours since I quit. I'm 42 and have been roughly a can of Kodiak a day since 16. I had one dip 22 hours after my quit time, but nothing since. The pure fog/dizzyness has lifted, now I'm in the nervous energy slightly fogged stage. Really want to go Mountain Biking but it's a drive. And I'm not sure driving is a good idea for me right now. I may just curl up and watch some movies.
This sucks. Plain and simple. But well worth it. Good luck to all the newbs.

I used Kodiak everyday of my life from 16 to 41. I promised myself every day that I would stop... but the next day I did it again. Until I joined KTC... that is when I QUIT. 500 days ago I told Kodiak to get out of my life.
Post your promise every day in your quit group (August 2014.) That is the month when you will hit 100 days quit. And you will hit it, because you are a man of your word. All that you have to do is post your promise to yourself and all of us FIRST THING every morning, and then be a man of integrity. Come here, make connections (and friends) and collect some phone numbers. It is kinda weird reaching out to a stranger that you don't know when you are feeling weak.... but it is expected of you to do just that! Every one of us has done it, and it makes every one of us stronger.
You've got this man. I hate Kodiak. And you will too. Welcome aboard.

You've been pointed in the right direction as far as reading up on the site already, get in here read all you can intros, speeches, welcome center all of it....then like the others said get your butt over and post roll with August 2014.
I too was a heavy Kodiak man for about 23 years 14-37. 296 days ago I also said goodbye to that furry son of a bitch 'Finger'
You can too if your ready, no one hear will sugar coat anything its a fucking battle, one that we win one day at a time. I cannot describe just how good it feels to free from the chains of nicotine addiction, but we all started at Day 1 and we know how bad it sucks. I promise you though, it will get better and when it does..... you won't believe just how good it will get.

I started when I was about 14 and quit when I was 44. It's not easy, and won't be for days, weeks, and months, but it is worth all the effort and mild suffering you'll go through.
You can do this if you want it badly enough.

Thanks to all. I didn't go mountain biking. I laid in bed watched crappy movies and fell asleep. Day 3 feeling much better. Physical tortures subsiding. Mental ones getting ready to percolate.

I used for 22 years. WAY too long. Listen, I like the curling up and watching movies thing. I tried to sleep as much as possible day 1 to 5 just to get the hours in and get to a level that was manageable. I didn't realize that each minute I was winning.....like you are!!
So, break your quit down to minutes if you need to. Just remember these days....remember how awful they are. You can't get to day 4 if you can't finish day 3! And the best part is that you will never have to do these days over again if you just keep your word for 24 hours. Worry about tomorrow when it gets here.
