44 years old and have been burning through a can a day since 16. Been wanting to quit since my first son was born 20 years ago. Flushed my can down the toilet last night before going to bed. I'm most worried about how I will act around the house and at work. I've about ripped a few heads off in the past when trying to quit. I don't even want to tell my wife I'm "quitting" again. Heading to the gym to try and forget about it for a few hours.

Dan, you came to the right place. Head over to the April 2016 quit group and post roll, your promise not to use nicotine for 24 hours. Exchange phone numbers with those quitters. That will form a support network that understands what you are going through.
Drink lots of water, Exercise. Read this site.
If you need to rip heads off or vent anger, do it here. We have all been there and can take it.

Come on Dan, you see all these folks pulling for you... all you have to do is make that promise for one day. One day at a time, brother, one day at a time.

Same story, 44 years old dipped a can a day since I was 15. I quit 11 days ago. Not gonna lie, first three days suckl. Fight through, and if you need a person in the same boat to talk it out reach out to me. Come back to this site every day, it will help.

keep thinking over and over "i quit today and that is all i need to focus on". once day one is over, it is done...you are on to day 2 and just like the day before, say over and over "i quit today and that is all i need to focus on". make this your routine to go here during the triggers and craves. it works like a charm and plus it is somewhat entertaining reading others rants about really anything in life. but remember - YOU QUIT TODAY!!! that is all you need to continue to think about and keep saying it!
F U nic - I quit today and I'm going to wake up tomorrow and quit again! BOOM!

Dan, you're going to go to the April 2016 Pre-HOF Group (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/11465559) to post roll. This is how we make our daily promise to not use nicotine in any form. Since you were nic free yesterday, today would be Day 2. Go post up roll.
Not sure how to do that? Here are the exact instructions:
Instructions for posting roll:
1. Quote the LATEST roll post.
2. Left click the bottom box.
3. Ctrl + A (select all)
4. Ctrl + X (cut)
5. Left click in the top box.
6. Ctrl +V (paste)
7. Add your name and number of days to the BOTTOM of the Bad-Ass Quitters section.
You can do this, man...you're already winning because you are quitting. Let's go.
