Day 2. My veins ache.

Day 2. My veins ache.
Life sucks when you first quit man.
I'm 34 years old, and I've stopped a few times. My veins ached. I hated food. I hated drinking. I hated life.
But it passes, and it passes fairly quickly.
The way to stay quit though is to remember how bad this feeling is. Savor it. Embrace the suck. Be Lt. Dan atop SS Jenny, screaming at God "Is this all you can do???"
My first few days were brutal. This place got me through them. After that, life got better and better. I'm on day 278 today and the thought of nicotine sickens me. I post roll everyday, I keep my word, and repeat the next day. I'm 278 for 278.
You can do this. You've made the best decision ever in you life.
EDIT: Just saw that this was your first post. Look up at the top of this page. There's a black banner. Click on the WELCOME CENTER up top and read up. If you need anything, give a shout.

Welcome buddy. It hurts because it is the poison leaving your body. Read what waste posted below, go post roll and get to know your brothers in July. All you have to do is make it to bedtime tonight, you can do that, I know you can. The nic bitch wants you to think that what you feel right now is forever but it's not. It gets A LOT better, much quicker than you could imagine. There are thousands of us that have done it, you WILL also.
Stay close to this site, don't put poison in your face today.

Hello,
My name is Nate and I have been a nicotine addict for around 24 years. I quit on 1/5/15 and have vowed that to be my last Day 1 ever. Numerous quit attempts on my own have failed one way or the other because I'm a dumbass. 'bang head'
I'm quitting with you all today because I'm tired of being a slave to the can and my addiction. Past failures have taught me painful lessons and I'm looking forward to helping fellow apes break through to the other side as well as achieving permanent quit status.
I'd like to exchange numbers with the apes and vets for support both ways. xxx xxx xxxx
(Wastepanel EDIT: Save the number for PM.)

I see you're on roll already man. Way to be proactive here. I promise that it will get easier...as will your quit. The thing about quitting is that it won't always be easy. That's when real quits are forged.
Get to know some people around here. Sleep back to back with them and protect each other. Quit is worth it. Get through these initial days: Drink tons of water. Exercise. Limit your alcohol and caffeine. Post roll and read everything you can here. There's a library of knowledge in these walls.
You can do this because I am.

What this Bad-Ass ^^^ said!

You did your homework before posting an intro, you understand the process, you're already supporting your fellow quitters, and you seem eager to learn. It's clear that you've got all the tools and determination to whip this thing. I have a feeling you're well on your way to doing this already, but like WP said, read everything you can. You've got a lot of vim and vigor right now, if you feel that slip at all, come back and read your intro. It will remind you how determined you are and should be. Welcome aboard, Nate.
