Well, here goes my first dip free day! Off to work, then taking my car to the car wash to vacumm and clean up all the dip mess. I mostly dipped while I drove. It was easy to hide it from others that way. No one road in my car, and I would freak out when people suggested that I drive. I was scared that I had spit bottles out, or cans on the floor, which was common.
I bought some gum, which I plan on chewing right after breakfast. Need to resist the temptation to stop by and pick up another can, but today shouldn't be a problem... I can make it, one day at a time.

Welcome! Congrats on the decision? Please, please, please, drink lots of water. Lay off of the caffeine if you do drink any at all anyways. Get you some fruit juice (Cran blend seems to be the favourite amongst quitters). Get involved in the site. Lots of great information like Irish pointed out and linked. Your quit is your daily promise. TO us and yourself. We are an accountability group. If you are worried you might screw up posting roll every day, dont worry. The only way you can screw it up is by not posting at all.

Congrats on your freedom TODAY. Go post roll. But before you do (if you haven't) make sure you're ready to keep your word. We take that very seriously. Our word is all we have.
Go promise to quit for TODAY. Then follow through on that promise. Then do it the day after, and the day after, and every day after that. It's what we do. It's what I've done for 487 days and its worked for me, and there's guys who have done it 3,000 days or more and are still doing it. It WORKS. One day at a time.
Main thing is: promise, and follow through. Be a man of your word. One day at a time. Not gonna lie--it's going to suck. But that's the stupid tax we all payed for getting addicted in the first place.

I don't know how many times I've thought - oh shit! Did I leave my spitter out?
There are freedoms won when you quit dipping, and not keeping track of spitters is one of them.
I've also used gum for the oral part of the addiction.
Welcome.
Post roll. Keep your word. Do it again tomorrow.
