Great to have you here. Click the link to the top left that says "Welcome Center." Read everything in there. Pay particular attention to how to post roll, and why we do that here. It is the foundation of our quit. YOu would be in the November quit group. (November, because that will be the month you reach the Hall of Fame)
You are quit for today. Post roll promising yourself, your quit group, and all of us on KTC that you will be nicotine free for today. Then, tomorrow, do the same thing.
I am quit with you. PM me if you run into trouble.
Welcome.

Great call, UM. Honestly, you have no idea how good a decision that was. Over the next couple of days, weeks, months, you will come to understand how much the nic-bitch was running your life. For now, just focus on today. You can do today. Today is possible.
One comment on your intro: smoking wasnt your problem. Dipping wasn't your problem. Nicotine was your problem. Mine too. So 5 years ago, you quit smoking, but like me, you continued a crazy infatuation with nicotine.
Check PM brother. Congrats.

Now check out the WELCOME CENTER, find out what it means to post roll, what it means to us, and then take that decision to quit to the next level.

@Union
Welcome aboard. I too chose to quit today. Its overwhelming how much support you will find here. Im still measuring my time quit in hours but im telling you right now it is very possible to do. Just keep yourself busy. Go for a drive, blast whatever music you like and drink lots of water. I always have a bottle of water with me. Holding the bottle feels familiar but im drinking instead of spitting. Go fishing and hold that can of crawlers in your hand. Tell me that doesnt look like the crap in a can you USED to put in your mouth. Thats nasty. Best of luck to you brother.

Body Healing (http://www.killthecan.org/additional-resources/the-effects-of-physical-withdrawal/) but it takes time. If the pain worsens be smart and get it checked out

Listen to the birdman. You did damage to your body for a few years; it will take more than 16 days to heal and to rewire your brain. Stay the course.

Our next stop is down in the deep south of Alabama to pick up UnionMech whose response was already well written so I present to you now:

Well, where to start....

Name is Mike from the great state of Alabama. 38 y/o father of 3. I got on the nic kick in my teens, started smoking at first then started the dip. I have had more than my share of wolf long cut straight. It has felt good to be a quitter although tough at times. When i jump on the train im bringing a few gallons of homemade lighting for everyone to nip on, be careful it has a bite. I would like to thank all those that came before me and posted the stories of how they quit and also the horror stories of their friends and family members. I wish for all November quitters to stay strong and stay quit. My bags are packed and im waiting at the station.

Congrats Mike!

Mike, The train picked you up but we haven't heard from you since. Are you stuck in the bathroom and can't get out? Give someone a shout out and let us know what's happening.
