I am now new to this site because i need to come up with a better plan for myself to quit. I am 17 years old and have been dipping since for almost 2 years now. I started with grizzly pouches then grizzly long cut and now (for the past year) im at kodiak. I go through atleast a can a day and maybe another half of one. I play baseball so thats how it all started but now i cant stop. I finally did in the beginning of october for about 3 weeks then i slipped up and now im back to where i started and cant stop again. I recently bought the fake dip (jakes mint chew) and am curious to see if it will help me quit dipping or not and if it is healthy to use. Thanks and let me know!

Fake is waaaay better than all the bullshit they put in the real stuff...congrats on the quit.. Make er fuckin count this time brotha!!!! 2 years is long enough I'm thinking... You don't wanna be one of us 10 plus year assholes trust me.

As long as you're not consuming nicotene, it's healthier. End of story.
On that note, if you're not consuming nicotene, slide on up to the top left hand corner of this page and click the salmon colored welcome center link. There you'll find out about roll call and how to post. Read, post roll in your quit group (February 2013), and STAY QUIT.

NB. You have been playing Russian roulette we never know which dip will trigger the cancer cells to develop. Quitting really sucks bad, remember the suck! I'm from a different generation (a 40 yr addict) but would love to support you in your quit if you are serious Check your inbox.

What gets everyone through their first three - four days after quitting? Any alternatives or just fighting it out? Any comments or suggestions help! This is day 2 for me and i just keep fighting the urge to dip right now.

Embrace the "suck" you will need to remember it later on in your quit so you never want to quit again. Focus on "today" and "today only". Eat, sleep, drinks lots of fluids, (avoid caffeine and alcohol), have sex, exercise, seeds, gum, hard candy, toothpicks, and keep yourself busy. Read everything you can on this site and stay close. I promise it gets better after that crap is out of you blood. Always remember to have a plan and remember why your quit. Get some phone numbers and post roll early everyday. All these things will help and get you through.

You are wise beyond your years if you are taking this seriously. I will do anything I can to help you avoid the years ahead that most of us endured until we wound up here.

Great job on taking the step to quit. Even better that your quitting it young. I started young as well, around 15 years old. I wasn't smart enough to quit till September of this year. I regret the 12 years I wasted dipping and I can't change the past but I can sure as hell control the future and so can you. I quit with you today. If you need anything just pm me. I'm always available.

Congrats on the right decision. Throw that crap down the toilet and stock up on the fake stuff. BTW, Smokey Mountain Wintergreen is the shiz if you can find it.
I started when I was 15 and quit last year right before I turned 40.
Don't be me.

What the Fuck is going on here?
First, you have two intros. That's irritating, and I merged them.
Second, you have one intro that says Day 1, and one that says Day 2.
Third, your intros are both dated Oct 29, but your signature line says you quit on Oct 27th.
Finally, you're 17. I'm sorry to say big guy, but you have to be at least 18 to be on this site.
There is this place (http://www.quitsmokeless.org/) and this place (http://mylastdip.com/). Either one can help you out, I'm sure. For many reasons we do require everyone to be of 'legal age' here.

NB,
Whar I wouldn't give to go back to 17 and quit. Take it 1 day at a time. Know that It will get easier. I hope to see you back here when you turn 18 with many days of quit under your belt. I urge youy to tell the people that care about you about your addiction and about your quit. Your school may have some resorces to help you. I will not wish you luck on your quit because there is no luck involved. It is a daily decision- some days it is not an easy decision, but it is always possible. There is NEVER an acceptable reason to cave as nicotine does not solve any of life's problems. Believe that you can quit then do it-One day at a time.
Stay quit,
