Hey, I'm Katie and I have been dipping for almost five years. I smoked in high school for three years (freshman year to junior year), but hated how it made me feel since I was an athlete. I met my husband, who dips, my senior year and made the switch over to smokeless tobacco. It was actually more accepted by my family, despite me being a girl, because my father dips, so it was an easy habit to start. I've gotten married since dipping, started a family since dipping, and I am also a college student since I've started dipping; my life as a dipper is the only thing I know and that's sad! I've never been a wife or mother without dip and I feel like I'm doing all of this for the first time ever.
Today is my first day and the struggle is real! It's pathetic to see how I function without nicotine. I find myself wandering around in a daze, as if my brain isn't working at all. It's hard for me to concentrate and keep a conversation. I stutter, fidget, and forget what I'm saying. I have even found myself crying in frustration. As I typed this, my oxygen high kicked in and so did the four cups of coffee I had within the last half-hour. I feel less needy, but I know the desire to head to the gas station will kick in! Here's to 100 days dip free!
Good luck!

Here with you. Have experienced all the same, do it for you. It is terrible I know but the days Have been getting better here early on. Think about everyone you love use that as ammo during the tough times. Think about yourself as a kid, look at some childhood pictures and look at the innocent kid there without chew and the happiest kid in the world. You set the example for your family set the standard before you know it they'll be asking you how you did it.
I too got introduced as an athlete and it has been tough to let go. Find it in yourself it's there. Quitting with you

Katie, welcome to KTC. Here we quit through brotherhood (plenty of sisters in here!) and accountability. That means getting to know your fellow quitters and posting roll with your promise to them not to use nicotine for the day That's it. Don't use Today. We are all nicotine addicts here going through the same stuff. I suggest you read as much as you can here and go to the July 2015 pre-HOF group and post your promise for Today. The groups are divided into when quitters reach 100 days without nicotine, so you fall into the July group. Quit with you today Katie.

Hey K
First... No luck needed.
Second... We can't focus on even tomorrow... Much less 100 days or a 1000.
I might go bolistic tomorrow.... But I made a promise not to touch nicotine for today. That I can make happen.
Also let go of the pride of chewing. When you read here and explore the Truth about nicotine, you will be transformed into understanding the lies and will begin to hate it.
Then we get angry because we were deceived.
Then we want to help others quit.
Deep down inside you know it is killing you.... Spend the time necessary here on KTC to learn why.
The Truth will set all of us free. Nicotine is a poison... It doesn't do one good thing for you.
It only has the ability to hold you captive to avoiding your next withdrawal.
Be an example to follow in your family.
I quit with you today..
Learn to post roll. Make a promise for 24 hours. Just drink water.
Then drink more water.

I don't see a roll post girl. Let's go. Post roll. You have ladies in here to help you. Get your name on roll. Get that shit out of your mouth. Let's go. Let's go. You don't need luck. We don't use luck. We get up, post roll and just quit. You want help or you want to cry me a river? Let's go. Let's go.
Quitting like a girl never felt so good....I promise it will be hard. I also promise it feels so damn good. I can promise you won't regret it.
