All,
I'm working on Day 2 and looking forward to keeping it flow going. Figured there was no better time than now to end this habit/addiction.
Appreciate all the support I've gotten so far.

JGBTX - welcome to the group. Remember there is a ton of info here; read as much as you can and quit on!
I quit with you today and will every day you need me.
-
Congratulations on your decision, and welcome. You have definitely come to the right place. Day 2 is awesome and right now it's the only thing you have to worry about. Just don't touch tobacco TODAY.
So, please introduce yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been chewing? Why did you quit?
You're about to be flooded with support by some badass quitters. Accept their help and listen to them. For now, just understand two things:
-You cannot have any nicotine for any reason whatsoever.
-You will beat this bitch into the ground one day at a time. ODAAT. Don't worry about hitting the Hall of Fame or avoiding nic in trigger situations. Just commit to not using nic today and keep that promise.
Private Message me if you need any help understanding how to Post Roll or get started or anything.

JGBTX...
You are about to join a bad ass heritage of quitters on this site. Many of them are veterans... many are at the outset of the journey (like myself). I'm ecstatic you made the decision to put the poison down and am proud to quit with you every day.
Every day we used to make choice to put that poison in, now we make the choice to NOT put the poison in...
Soak in every word of advise/wisdom that you can from all of the awesome people on this site. Drink the kool-aide and drink it deep.
Proud to quit with you TODAY.

I have been in chat the past two days with jgbtx and yes he has posted in November. He will in time learn that his intro page will be of great use to him. Hell it took me almost two weeks before I started owning my QUIT too.

I'm a member of the amazing November 2013 Quit Group. I'm 84 days into my quit, and my reason for posting this message is to tell you how amazing I feel. Like so many others, this was not my first time to quit. Prior to finding this site, I would randomly quit and naturally cave sometimes days, weeks, and in my early twenties, I caved after having about a year under my belt while traveling for work.
When I found this site, the first thing I did was go into the chat room. What was suprising to me was the ferver of the guys in the room with respect to not only their own quits, but their excitement about my day 1. They didn't know me and I didn't know them. There was a natural bond that is formed though when we say we are quit. It is a bond of of those that have been through the pain of the quit that makes us all brothers and sisters to those that are staking a claim on their life that they want to go through that same hell so that they are no longer a slave and this addiction take their own life.
Like the literature on the website suggests, I was miserable for the first week. Things would get better on a daily basis. I think I had the chat room open for the entirety of my first week. Too many individuals to list here were there to support me. The ability to purchase a can is reduced to zero if you are sitting in the chatroom, having a craving and working through it with your brothers and sisters. It did get better.
I sit here 84 days with the train coming my way soon to pick up not only myself, but my new friends who had the nerve to call me out when I was not posting role. Actually, it isn't even nerve. I honestly believe it is because we have a bond in our quit, and we care too much to let people get out of the program and cave. I feel great. No fog, still have cravings everynow and even to the point to where I feel like I can smell it. I still read quit stories, and I still re-read stories like Randy's on the homepage. You have to believe me when I say that the pain goes away; you just have to earn it.
I don't really know why I am posting this message other than I felt the need to say something. You are all making one of the best decisions of your life and we are honored to quit with you today, tomorrow, and for the rest of our lives. I offer any help I can to you. All you have to do is simply PM me your number, and I will check on your every day and be there for you to talk you out of the gas station. Unless you are there to buy cheetos. I love cheetos.
I quit with you today.

Great post jgbtx, gotta keep it in one intro thread though. A mod will merge this with your original one. It's great to update it like this though, important for new quitters and for yourself to look back and see how far you've come.
Proud to quit with you brother!

Jgbtx- Thanks for the encouraging words. its always nice to hear from some the guys that have been quit for a while to help some of us early quitters get that little extra boost of encouragement we need during some of the hard times.
-
jgbtx – His real name is James has been a bit of a quiet quitter but when he does say something you can rest assured that his words will be on point and supportive. He is a single Texan transplant to Kansas City that works as a CPA. Started dipping in high school while cutting weight for wrestling and just kept the party going for another 11 or 12 years. He'll be bringing a bottle of Laphroig for the train, as well as a non-alcoholic substitute for those that wish to not participate. He also wants to give a shout out to Pinched, Dabean, Paddymac, Cbird, and others that have been with me the whole way, and I'm signing up to quit with you all for the next 100 days on to 200.

James, I have no idea what "Laprhoig" is but if it's got alcohol, I'll try it at least once. It's been a great ride with you and Gorilla. If you look carefully, you will notice that everyone with our HOF date made it. It has been a privilege to quit with you brother.
-
Keep it real James. We've made it this far together and I hope that we continue along trudging side by side. Here's to Day 101!
Peace.
-
congratulations on 100 days James. That is a big inspiration to guys like myself that are still in the early stages of their quit. Keep it up!
-
I have submitted my HOF Speech. Not sure when it will show for everyone's viewing pleasure. However, I want to thank all of you. I'm proud to be quit with my two HOF Day Brothers - Gorilla and DaBean.
Let's keep this train going!
-
Great HOF Speech! There will be many a quitter new and old that will look at your HOF and become inspired or re-inspired.
You are doing great! Yes there has been lots of Melrose Quit Place Drama in November 13 and looking through today it is still not yet going anywhere.
I ask that you remain inspired like you are today and use your quit and the quit of other strong quitters in your group to help that last week and a half of quit happen with full support in November.
