Hey all, like the rest of you i'm here for the help to get through the misery of quitting the dip! I've chewed for 12 or so years and finally ready to give it up for good! I'm on day 2 of my quit and even though it's hard as hell i'm gonna beat it!

Welcome FFDane. I saw that you posted Roll in the May 2018 HOF group. That is Awesome.
That promise everyday to yourself and the other members in your group is what keeps your motivation up to stay quit.
Get some digits of members in your group that you can text or call if you ever fell the like caving. Drink lots of water and keep some sunflower seeds handy.
I will PM you my digits. Use it if you need to,
Chris

Quit for today, Dane. Don't worry about tomorrow. Anyone can quit for a day, even me. Quit for today.
Tomorrow, you decide to quit for a day, again.
One friggin' day. No more, but no less.
-
Thanks, one day at a time is all anyone can do

YouÂ’re not here by luck! This is a choice and KTC and friends are here to help you through it! Let me know if you need anything!

Day 3
I had quite the craving this morning after my coffee for a chew, but I fought it and won! I was raging quite a bit then as well but got past that as well. Right now I feel just ok but ok is fine with me

If it was easy to quit, everyone would. Like everything worthwhile in our lives, it takes hard work and commitment.

Day 4
So far so good.
HavenÂ’t really had any cravings or anything but texting some fellow quitters this morning I think helped out a lot with that!

Glad to see you becoming more and more active and pumped to see you have an intro up.
Keep up the awesome attitude that you've got going so far!

FFDANE,
Welcome to the group. You have the right attitude. I am just going to do this. That is exactly the correct and winning way to think!
I am sharing tips that I learned in my quit after using for over 40 years. I hope this helps you.
The main way to be successful is to just decide that you have quit. Once you stop the negotiating in your head as to whether you will do one more or not the rest becomes far more simple.
Next, you will learn to distract your attention from your desire for a dip to anything else that interests you. This ability to change your focus will guarantee your success and make your quit that much easier.
When you place a dip in your mouth, your brain releases sugars. Well, those sugars are now going to be gone.
However, you can replace them with OJ or other fruit juices with sugar. This will provide some comfort, especially on your initial quit days.
Make sure to exercise with weights and cardio when you feel that nagging tension in your muscles, you feel that rage, when you can not sleep and when you cannot focus. Exercise really helps.
Here is one that most people overlook. Get at least 3 square meals a day. Hunger can really bring on those urges so squash those urges before they come. Eat full healthy meals and do not let yourself get excessively hungry. You will see this helps a great deal.
I waited until I was 59 quit after using tobacco for 40 years. You are wise to quit now.
I quit with you today.

Up to the afternoon of day 7 and I feel great! The cravings are still there, certain things still trigger them but itÂ’s nowhere near as hard as it was to get by them. I have energy that I havenÂ’t had in a long time and IÂ’ve been sleeping better as well.
