My name is Tom and today I finally decided that it was time to quit my nasty habit. I value my health and am doing this not only for myself, but for my wife. We were married less than 6 weeks ago. We are trying to save money, and I'm wasting it away on that shit that makes my breath stink, and overall isn't healthy at all.
Really looking forward to getting some support from you all and providing tips on how to get through this. My first step was buying a pack of gum. Gonna chew two pieces as much as possible to rid the shitty skoal mint.

Welcome aboard. Head on over to March 12 and post roll. Try not to lick the windows. You can do this....
-
Hey Tom, Congrats on your decision. Success here is a function of your desire to be quit and your ability to keep your word. When we post roll it's a promise that nicotine in any form is off the table for that day. The next few days are the most difficult... Lots of water, gum, sunflower seeds and exercise will ease the symptoms of withdrawal. Get some numbers from the folks in March, these guys are your lifeline. Read everything you can and stay true to your word. We've all been where you are, made it through and so can you.
Welcome...your freedom awaits.
-
Appreciate it! When you say post roll, what exactly do you mean?
-
You will be posting roll in the March 2013 quit group each day. By posting each day, you will be giving your pledge not to use nicotine in any form. Reach out to your quit group brothers to get text and phone numbers for support too.
Here is a link to your quit group. index.php?showtopic=7445 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=7445)
Today is your day 1. Welcome.
Also go up to the welcome center link to learn more about how and why we do what we do around here.

Welcome to the group tcass8. Every day gets a little easier. The welcome center is a good place to start. Posting roll can be a little tough to figure out the first time. Post here if you need help. One day at a time.

Congrats TCASS...you can DO this! The nicotine will try to tell you that it is hard to quit dipping...don't listen to it. If you think nicotine is hard to quit, try quitting cancer! Keep your head down and anything is possible! You won't regret this walk...God Bless...
-
TCASS - figure out how to post roll as stated below and repeat. This works and you will have a ton of support in your March 2013 group. Freedom feels better that you can imagine.

4 days in and still going strong!

Take a look at the top of this page and you'll see a black bar with words inside of it. You will see a salmon colored WELCOME CENTER. Click on that and read up on what we do here, why we do it, and how we do it.
Proud of you man, but 4 days is a drop in the bucket to all those days that you used. You aren't magically cured immediately (or ever), and quitting is about changing your life not to include nicotine in it at all.

You are now nicotine free... keep posting roll and you can remain that way!
STAY QUIT

Hey tcass, I still do not see you on the roll call. Not sure what you are doing, or if you are just getting bumped off.
Try this link: http://www.killthecan.org/roll/ (http://www.killthecan.org/roll/) Hit the play button at the bottom and it should walk you thru.
Feel free to pm me if you need a number, or additional help posting roll.

hey TCASS8,
Just go away and come back when you grow a pair or when you realize that you could have CANCER GROWING in your body because nicotine cannot touch you! 'finger point' 'crackup'
YOu're a very special butterfly, like no other, your breath doesn't stink like cat shit, you can quit anytime cause "you got this". NOT! 'finger point'
Lies, Lies, you're telling yourself.
Get real Mr. TCASS8!!! Wake up before it is too late! Do you really want to be the guy on his death bed wishing you had another few days to live??
Don't QUIT for the dog, the wife, the kids, mommy or daddy, you have to make this a very selfish QUIT, just like your ADDICTION is SELFISH.
Let's go mr. Get quit, use the tools, YOU can KILL the CAN....we're here to help but you have to DECIDE and do this ONE DAY at a time. 'zombie'
Be a man and be QUIT already!!! 'bang head'
