Hi all
Very new here but heading into day 8 without a dip.
Was wondering how this site can help me and how i can use it to its maximum potential.
Going to be heading into some rough patches over the next 2 weeks with some regular dipping enviornments and routines coming back into play in my life (i quit on vacation so i wouldnt be tempted as much), such as driving long distances, late night tedious work on the Mac, etc.
Really going to try to change up my routines but already i can hear that little punk-ass voice in the back of my head telling me I cant do any of those things without my dip.
I need to stand true.
Thanks
Lou

I've had the habit over 30 years and can't remember doing a thing without a dip in.
Many, if not most of the people here probably won't agree with my suggestion and might suggest heresy... but I would suggest trying the fake dip...
It is bad enough going through the withdrawals for me... losing that familiar pinch might have made it unbearable.

I would say do whatever it takes to keep that shit out of your mouth. There is one guy on here (jpine) you should see what he does to keep it out.....But seriously, everyones quit is different and what has helped me is to take an average of all the info on here and use that.

Lou, keep that mental picture of the people and/or things you love most in your life in the forefront of your mind or right out in the open where you can see. Everytime you think of having a dip, look or think of them and imagine what they would go through without you being there because your dead or dying from cancer. Grim, ohh yes, but that keeps me "sober". The fake stuff is alright, I used it for 2 days, but then stopped so that that aspect of dippin didn't make me want to have the same thing. Be strong and ask for help when you need it.
Get into your group when you make that absolute commitment and use your quit group members and if you can find one, like a sponsor(s) who you can call or text when you most need it. These guys love to help and we all want to stay quit, so vent, ask questions and melt down here.

CanÂ’t believe IÂ’m here again. Thought I kicked it and was off of dip for almost 3 years. I have to do this for my kids.

Hey Bad! Welcome aboard mate. I went through your introduction from 2008. It's bad that you had to get back to the nicotine bitch! Hope this will be the last time you ever quit and hope that your quit becomes your addiction! Glad to have you here... Stay strong, stay quit, one fuckin day aTV a time!!!

Okay, I'm going to resist the urge to refer to you as "BM". LOL In all seriousness, glad to see you're back here after letting yourself fall back in to your addiction. The one thing I would point out - and you probably don't need me to say this because you know - don't do this for your kids. They aren't the one putting shit in their mouths. You gotta do it for you, and you only. This is one of the few things for which you can be excused for being selfish.
Quit for you, not your kids, or your significant other, or your grandma, or grandpa, or even Aunt Sally (if you have and Aunt Sally). Quit for you. All those other people in your life will reap the benefits of you not being a slave to nicotine any more. Quit for you.
I quit with you today, Moona. For me, and with you. I will send you my digits - I could use another quit team member to help me in my 450 day quit anyway. Accountability breeds success.

You have to do it for you. If you do it for any other reason, you will fail. Again.
Also... there is no “kicking it” it’s addiction, you can’t run a little something on it and make it go away.
Get your head on straight. Read, read, read. Get involved. Post roll every damn day and be a man of your word.

I combined your introductions...
