New to the group and first time post. My quit day was November 6,2012 61 Days ago, my 2 year olds birthday. I've dipped since age 16 for 16 years which is half of my life. Tried to quit a few times but only lasted a day here and there. I tried using nicotine gum but have been addicted to that for about 4 years and just used it to get me between dips. Even chewing 100+ pieces of gum per week I was still chewing 1-1.5 cans per day. Cold turkey was the only option. I am greatful to have found this site as I have no doubt I would have failed without it. When the cravings come it's nice to know that others have had the same issues. Especially around day 50 I was shocked at how bad the cravings were. But I was happy that they were 50 days in and not 2. I look forward to remaining quit for the rest of my life for my self, son, wife and family and I love the feeling of not being a slave to nicotine!

Welcome Cyclops. I too am in the Feb 13 Quit group. I will pm you my info also. Congrats on making it this far on your own, don't think I would've been able to do it.
Remember, we can't control the past and we can't predict the future but we can quit for today. We do it one day at a time here. Post your word early in the morning that you will not use nicotine in any form, keep your word for that day and repeat daily.

Dude just let em know your still quit, I think thats a big thing. Im 13 days and really didnt intend on coming here to be a part of the community, but these guys take someone showing up here serious, and I am going to do my best to respect it with at least a post a day with roll and about my quit, despite that not being my original intention.

I didn't do an HOF speech on my 100 day mark. Today it hit me that it has been one year since my last dip. My sons birthday was my quit date. Today he turned three. The older he grows the more I see him idolize me. I am beyond words of how much KTC means to me I can look my at my boys face and know that he will never see me put a dip in in his life. For those who are just starting the journey I would submit that a year goes by in a flash. I would not have quit without KTC and I will never cave.

Wow. Awesome job man, and keep up the good work.
Be careful as you have 39 posts to those 370 days of quit. Practice for the bad when times are good, and lean on your tools when they aren't.
You can do this, and very proud of you.
