3 days in. First morning I haven't woken up hating my life and myself.
I've been hooked for a bit on Snus, the little Sweedish packets. Had a run in with them years ago, but managed to get off, then went to Sweeden this summer and gave them a try. That was months ago, been hooked since then. Made several attempts, all failed, and just resulted in me being anxious for about a month straight. Finally got tired of hating life and myself, and just powered through, now it is day 3, and the first morning I've felt calm for a long time.
It has been freaking awful, and this time I know I'm done with nicotine for good. It's effect on me is too powerful, and I'm unpleasant to be around. It seems even like, once I'm hooked, that the nicotine only gives me a bump for about 5 minutes, then I'm anxious until the next hit.
Worst thing about Snus - completely clandestine, particularly if you have a beard. I tried gums and lozenges, but those were no different - it is still nicotine. Plus the lozenges made me

Hey WorkerB!
Well, they say that by day 3 nicotine is either completely gone or nearly completely gone from your system, so it's no shock to me that you're feeling better. Quitting is different for everyone, so I can't give you a definite timeline of when your worst part will be, or when it will be over. However, I can tell you that the worst part typically is very early on in your quit. Also, in the end, it really isn't important when the worst part is, because you have to power through it anyway!
That said, it's time to start recognizing the improvements coming your way. Even the little things. Maybe your teeth will get a little whiter. I know your bank account is gonna be better off - that stuff is expensive. Maybe your sense of taste improves. Maybe just the feeling of being able to look at yourself in the mirror and know you're not a slave to big tobacco anymore is important. Basically what I'm getting at is that things are going to get better both in ways you've imagined, and ways you couldn't have imagined.
Just hang in there, post roll in your quit group (December 15 is your group!), and read as much as you can on this site!

Welcome WorkerB, Invader is spot on about the feelings being different for everyone. But there is one constant - you will feel better at some point. Guaranteed. It just takes a lot longer for our brains to rewire even though the nicotine drug is out of our bodies.
This is going to be hard, but you can do it one day at a time. Your brain will play tricks on you to try and get you to have "just one", it seems you already know that there is absolutely no such thing as just one. I told myself that lie so many times in the past after stopping for many months. Only with the help of many people here at KTC have I been able to fully grasp the importance of that daily promise to myself and my brothers here. You can do this too!
Quit with you EDD (Every damn Day)

Hmmm, good question. Just depends on what you call the worst. There's 24,000 people on this site that's proof you can do this if you really want it! Quit on!
