Today is my quit day number 1. I have been dipping for 17 years, it's after 12 here in Oklahoma, been up since 6 AM and haven't had a dip. My wife smokes, and I think the next time she lights up, Ima gonna cram that thing where the sun don't shine. Any tips on dealing with a spouse who doesn't see the merits in quitting, other than divorce? lol

First of all congrates on YOUR dection to QUIT. It was YOUR choice to put that shit in YOUR own face for 17 years not HERS. YOU have to QUIT for YOURSELF and nothing and noone else. If you need to vent bring it in here we can take it. No need to cause problems at home. If YOU want Her support and respect in this then I suggest YOU lead by example my friend. Show her that YOU are MAN enough to quit and stay that way. Now go to the top of the page where the welcome center is and read up on posting roll call. YOU will be in the June 2013 group. Now go post roll and get some numbers from YOUR new quit brothers.

Unfortunately, you can't make someone else quit. You have made the right decision and all you can do it quit for yourself. Go for a walk, go chop down a tree, get away for the few minutes you need to be away from that activity. Make sure you keep something around to keep your oral fixation under control as well, gum, seeds, candy, anything but nicotine. Check out the welcome center up top, it is the salmon/pink link on the banner at the top of the page.

Welcome aboard Dusty, best decision you have made. Like everyone else has said here, when you need to vent or rage step into our parlor and let it fly. We have been there and done that. We know how to handle it, others do not and might take it personal. Get you some digits and use them, go into to chat. Seems like there is someone there 24-7 damn near.

I will be posting at roll in the morning for sure! Day one has been a bear, but its over. Got the ol lady to smoke in a different room at least, no luck on getting the damn snow shoveled.

Gotta head back to the rig tomorrow, and I"m gonna be away from a computer for a week. There any one that could post in for me while I'm gone?
Not looking forward to going back to work, every damn person I work with dips. And I get to be around those assholes for a week straight.

Day 3 about over, survived all day at work, got to yell around at my new worm hands that made me feel better. On the downside, I couldnt shit to save my life. Bout to go lay up in the bunkhouse and pray for a healthy dump before I go to bed. Dont know if my crew can handle me no nicotine and constipated.

More water, 8 glasses a day and maybe some exlax will help.
