New to the site, but not new to online forums. I'm one of the millions of people that said they want to quit but continue to do it. I am finally at the point I just don't want to do it anymore and want to quit. Looking for advice and something/someone to help me through it. Hope you guys/gals can put up with me :P

You are in the right place if you want to quit. There are a couple rules to play on the monkey bars. Follow these rules, keep your word, and I promise your quit will stick.
This is the backbone of what makes this place work and why we Post Roll. (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=120)
This is how you Post Roll (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=50)
This here, is the Super Secret Video (http://www.killthecan.org/roll/) for the extra foggy. An example of a perfect Roll Post.
And last, but definitely not least, if today is your Day 1, this is Where (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=6044) you post roll. June 2012. Your in the June 2012 group because you 'should' hit 100 days in June.
You have the information. You have the tools. The true question now is, do you have what it takes? Do you want this bad enough? Gimme a day on in June Josh. The big blue letters in my signature below apply directly to you. Do it. Check your Inbox (1). Reach out if you have any questions.

A little more about me, born and raised in Florida, now living in Virginia. Been dipping since I was 16 and am now 34. Hard for me to admit I'm addicted to something, but I know I am. Thanks everyone for the private messages of encouragement and support so far.

I see 2 posts. They are both in here.
Grab your balls, plug your little nose, and jump in the fucking water.
Flush your stash.
Quit.
Or leave and come back when your ready.
-
Lot of quit up in here, in KTC. Like they said before me, trash the stash and post roll, this is serious business.
You a Gator fan?
-
Sorry guys had a family emergency come up and had to leave town, but I am back and I'm going to win this fight!!!

Gator,
Good luck with your quit. p.s. The only good thing to come out of Florida was Percy Harvin. LOL.

What a tough day, this is going to be a little harder than I thought!

Stay in there, man. You got it.
What really helped me was going and hanging out with my non-dipping friends...just to keep my mind off of it. If you go and sit and play video games, go for a drive, sit in the recliner and watch tv, etc...it's gonna be harder if you're keeping with your normal routine.
Try to reduce your triggers and you'll be good.
I drank a cup of coffee for the first time in a week this morning. I learn that it's a HUGE trigger for me (bigger than I though) and that I'm going to have to stay away from coffee for a long time. It's just part of the quit, though.

If day one wasn't bad enough, cravings, no sleep, day 2 hasn't started off any better. 'help' 'bang head'

Gator hang in there, the first three four days are a bitch, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. You will start to feel better. Just commit to getting through today. Don't you let your brothers down and more importantly don't let the nic bitch kick your ass.

I'm not going to lose this battle, and I'm not going to let anyone down!!

in·tro·duc·tion/ˌintrəˈdəkSHən/
N: The bringing of a product, measure, concept, etc., into use or operation for the first time.
Notice that I underlined first time.
Lets keep all this good stuff in your original introduction, for posterity's sake.

Hang in there Gator, these are tough days. The good news is that you posted a promise not to dip today (I checked). I posted with you, and I'm not gonna let you out of the promise. So you WILL get through today. You may not be so sure about tomorrow, but tomorrow doesn't matter.
Congrats on your last day 2 ever.

Maybe my last post was a little 'high flying' and passed over a few heads. Let me clear some things up. Maybe we can chalk this whole two introductions thing up to ignorance, but, I think it is some type of cover up for the dooshbaggery in your original Introduction (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=6054).
You sir, told us you were going to quit on the 23rd of February. We gave you the information, support and tools you needed to succeed. You disappeared, dipping for two days I presume because you did not post your day one until the 25th. Weak, very weak. And don't give me the emergency line that you did in what we will call Introduction #1. If there really was an emergency, I am sorry. But, there are emergency's happening to guys all the time here, and they stay quit. So, in our opinion, there is no good reason to put that shit in your face, emergency or not.
You dipping is not what I have issue with. What I have issue with is that you posted a second introduction. Weather you meant to or not, that part doesn't matter to me, that simple act is a big FU to this place and all that it stands for. The foundation of this place is accountability, when you hide your weak ass entrance to KTC, because yes, it was weak, you are not owning up to your quit. So, this is you, not being accountable for your actions. This lack of accountability spreads like a cancer. Both in you, and in other new quitters watching, because they ARE watching everything that is posted here. This display, tells new quitters (you included) that they don't need to quit today and they don't need to be accountable for their actions or their quits. These are the basic principles of this place, and weather you know it or not, you are shitting on them.
In my opinion, both of these threads need to be merged. You need to own up to your weak entrance, keep posting in your original introduction so that you can look back on this and see where you came from.
If you have a problem with what I am saying, PM me. I would be more than happy to explain accountability and why it makes this place work in further detail.
-
Everybody can relax.
Spoke with Josh, and he's just in the suck and foggy as all get-out.
Merged your intro Josh.
Let's get back to the quitting and supporting!
PM me if you need anything Josh!

Day 3 going a little better than the last two. For some reason I woke up with cotton mouth like I had been dipping, don't know what the fuck that's about. Anyone else experience that? Was able to sleep a lot better last night than the previous but I think I was so damn tired. Hit the gym hard last night which may have also contributed to better sleep.

Josh,
Three days is phenomenal. Keep it up.
You are going to experience all kinds of weird shit the next few weeks, it passes and gets way better, I promise.
Give us and yourself your word every morning and keep it, just like you've been doing.
Move around, drink lots of water, and do whatever it takes to keep that shit outta your lip.
The suck and this fog will soon pass, and things are gonna start looking a whole lot better.
Reach out if you need anything.

PS: I am leaving what I said down there and not deleting it because I want it to be a reminder of how this addiction can effect your mood even 128 day out. I was craving, raging, and jonesing yesterday and took it out on you. Even though I feel strongly about what I said, and still do, I went about it the wrong way. But, there is a lesson in everything, so I hope we can all learn from what I said.
-
Shouldn't have spoke too soon about it not being too bad today. I got some food and had a massive crave, but I fought it and got through it and now I'm just in a shitty mood. I'm sure it will change, no dip for me though!!!

Words of encouragement -- good.
Motivational hard rock song -- better:

Put on the headsets, crank it up, and tell the tobacco companies to kiss your sorry ass.

By the way, for those of you who quit long-term, I don't know how you do it without either:
a) music
B) spirituality ( God, etc).
Both are good stuff. If you don't have either of these, how??

Nice to see another Gator on board! I'm a diehard Kentucky fan, unless theyre playin the gators. UF Gator alumni graduated in 2002. Best way to describe me...Kentucky fan in the Spring, Gator fan in the Fall. Glad to quit with ya. Buck

Well today is day 4 and seems to be going really well, haven't had a crave or anything. Been drinking lots of water. Ate a couple times this morning and never thought about a dip, seem to be making some progress!
-
Passed a huge test last night, a bunch of us went to Buffalo Wild Wings. Almost every single person there had a dip in, they kept asking if I wanted one, and I kept telling them no and I had quit. That was huge for me!!!! Now I'm on day 5 and feeling damn good!!

Small victories, my man. Congrats. I was able to go to the bar last night, and the smell of cigarette smoke made me sick (usually when I cave, it's a cigarette first, then dip later...). And obviously, I'm quit.
Good being quit with you today.

That's a huge victory, Josh, you are a beast.
And tell these so-called "friends" of yours to FUCK OFF for me, will you?
Tell them "Russ said he wanted me to thank you guys for being a bunch of pussies and trying to ruin my quit."
Also:
"He also asked if you guys could say hi to RAMDEEP tomorrow when you're standing in line behind the lottery ticket wino at the convenience store, waiting to pay 6 bones for your nerve agent tin."

YES. Fucking yes. Outstanding. BALLS. STEEEEEEEEELLLLL BALLLLLLLLLS.
You fucker bring the quit. They are the weak ones. You are the strong. When they stick that can in front of you, you squint, give a Client Eastwood smirk and tell those fuckers "I quit".
FUCK I'm pumped. Good shit. Made my day.
PS. This isn't the lite site is it?

Same exact night for me. We are hosting a big clinic - tons of coaches in town and at least half if not more in the room are dipping ALL DAY!!! Went and had beers after. Counted 7 of 10 at the table dipping. Felt great to wake up this morning another day quit and didn't cave like a pussy!!! Embracing the suck - smashing my balls in desk drawer - but not putting Copenshit in my mouth!!! That was a huge moment for me and rallying off of it!!! Stay QUIT
