Hello everybody. 29 years old and have dipped since I was 13. Tired of that little can controlling my life. Had my first kid, a little girl, in July and lost my dad to cancer caused by smoking in August. I am not going to put my kid through what I went through watching my dad. I have tried to quit before but always caved after a day or two. On day 4 of my quit now and am more determined than ever. I just "stopped dipping" all those other times, I'm quitting for good this time. I ain't gonna let no little damn can dictate my life anymore!

Nice job posting roll. Now give your promise every damn day that you won't be lured by the foul songs of that nic-whore. Show some of the wobbky February brothers what a 100 percent roll posting record looks like.

Fuck ya!!! Bring the WOOD!!
Quit one day at a time. When I started out, I was counting minutes at times. Reach out to folks on the site, use live chat if you need to. I find that it helps to hate the NIC BITCH.
Now say it with me....
FUCK FUCK FUCK the NIC BITCH!!!!
Welcome aboard I quit with you today. If you need a number just PM me. I will give you mine.

Great choice, Wood!!! Post roll, live free. Also, you might want to check out the Tom and Jenny Kern Story. Powerful stuff. Stay strong. You go this!

Great job! Go after it with all you got and don't look back. Nothing to see in the rear view mirror!

Woodrow if I can offer any advice it's to remember what you are fighting. If you are fighting against dipping its a losing battle. Your mind will come up with a reason sooner or later that will make you cave. You have to fight to stay in control of your addiction. There is no reason for you not to have control over putting a weed in your mouth. Maybe the difference is just a nuance, but the difference has kept me dip free for the first time in decades. Good luck.

I'm on day 16 and chewed for 23 years. So first of all I'm glad you're making this decision at a younger age than I did. And this will be a roller coaster ride. Day 3 sucked ass for me, days 4-7 were no big deal, day 8 a nightmare and now I'm on 16 and this is about as crabby as I've been since day 3. So just want to prepare you for that. Get with your quit group and get some phone numbers so you can connect with someone in an emergency. No matter what, just don't out that filthy rotten shit in your lip again!

Congrats on your decision Wood! Looks like you're off to a great start.
I'll say what others have: it's important to develop the brotherhood. Sounds weird at first, right? Strange guys on the internet, why would I give them my phone number?
For me, it has been the single most useful tool in my quit. I'm not a big chatter, I don't jump into all the drama/debates/whatever the hell ya call em. BUT, they know my name. They know who I am. And everyone who gets to know you, everyone who you would let down if you cave, that's what makes my roll call a promise, not just a silly post on a web forum.
You've got my numbers in your inbox. Use 'em if you ever need 'em.
I quit with you today +1!

By this point your out of the fog and it's all ind games from here. Sure thing there are tough days ahead but it comes down to 2 things. Post your roll daily, and keep your word. Integrity is a bitch. Takes a lifetime to build trust and one wrong move, poof it's gone.
Post roll. Keep your word. Focus on nothing else. You've fucked your brain schematics up for so long it will take awhile to get right. Your goal is to stay quit until you return to normal. The cool part is that normal is AWESOME after not feeling normal for 13, 15 20 years being a user.
Stay quit. Rock on.

I'm a man of my word... If you see my name on that roll you ant got to worry bout ol Woodrow dipping that day! I quit with all of you today!

Wood, you are in the thick of the fog and the nasty nic bitch fighting to make you break! Stay connected. Beyond posting roll (which is absolutely mandatory), get numbers, establish connections to other brothers here and reach out if you have a craving. Remember you have to ask for permission if you think about using... No one will ever let you. Believe me, I have helped others off the ledge and in turn they have helped me as well in my weaker moments.
Getting digits is clutch, and if you need any help PM me.
We are all with you on this. You got this.

Out-fucking-standing, Wood!!! That is the attitude. We make no promises for tomorrow, next week or whatever. But when we post roll, we guarantee that there will be no nicotine today.
Quitting is like that joke about how to eat an elephant...one bite at a time. I used to get overwhelmed by the thought of "quitting forever." I didn't believe I could do it. I didn't believe in myself. I didn't believe in the power of posting roll.
Then I clicked around in a few quit groups...not just my own, but a few other months/years. The thought occurred to me that every name there was an addict who was (or had been) right where I was. They dealt with the shit, and showed back up to do it again. There are no short-cuts or tricks. There is only quit or excuses. Every bad-ass on this site is choosing quit each day. YOU CAN TOO!!!
YOU GOT THIS, BROTHER!!!
