Title: Day 1
Post by: chosen25 on September 23, 2012, 03:50:00 AM
Ok. New to this sort of thing but nothing to it but to do it..... I have been dipping for 17 years...since I joined the Army. I am ready to quit. This site was recommended to me by a buddy. I am currently with the 173rd Airborne serving in Afghanistan on my third deployment. The reason I want to quit is Im tired of spending the money...lol. My kids are worried about me getting hurt over here and here I am hurting myself every day with this stuff. There are some that thing this is the worng time because of the stress...I think it is perfect because...I have no more left and it is not like i can go to the store and buy one...lol. I have about 10 rolls of the smokey mt and 10 rolls of BAC off. I know the first couple days will be rough with the nic fits...but I think the hardest time will be when I am watching movies or playing computer games...when i dipped the most before...but that is why i have the non tobacco stuff. Well let me know what I am supposed to do as far as roll call and stuff...but remember im 8 and half hours ahead of EST. Thanks, and I look foward to bullshitting on this forum...thanks!!

Thanks for your service to our country. It will be hard but well worth it. I am on day 45 and it is still a struggle. Post roll every morning and say goodbye to the dip.Lots of good advice here and knowing what to expect. Be safe and we all support our troops.

Thank you for your service to our country. It's an honor to have you join us.

I like your attitude about the timing of your quit. It's real easy to rationalize putting it off because of the stress of life. While I can't imagine the stress someone in your position is under, I do know that everyone has problems in life. None of them should be used as an excuse to continue to poison your body.

Discipline, honor and hard work -- all things you know a lot about -- are what will make you successful here. Post roll, honor your promise, and repeat. Simple, but not easy - but then again, nothing in life that's worth anything, is easy.

a bit more -i am 25 years in. EVERYTHING was wrapped around a chew.
gum, life savers and i just mixed in sunflower seeds. changing it up works. the seeds seem best cause they are not so sweet. i am just as good at MW3 and HALO without kodiak (maybe better) good luck!

Thanks for the replies...been going good. have had some pretty good headaches...but I expected that. I have been using the BAC OFF and the Smokey mountain....I knew I would probably cave into the trigger of when i play computer games...just so engrained in there....so i use the non tobacco stuff...its been working so far. oh well nothing to it but to do it. If I can do three years in this hell hole I KNOW i can handle this......
