Title: Done and DONE
Post by: Future HOF on April 21, 2016, 08:35:00 AM
I'm finally giving it up. It's going to be a struggle, but I know it will be worth it in the end. I just have to convince myself everyday that it's worth it.

I read a post that summed it up best....it's like losing your best friend, who never complained, never busted your balls, and was the perfect companion when your watching tv, playing golf, working in the office, working in the yard, driving down the road, early in the morning for a boost, or late at night to calm you down before going to bed.

However, I know I can overcome all this crap once I realize that it could kill me one day if I don't QUIT. Plus, if I don't quit, my wife will kill me....so death is almost certain at this point if I don't give it up.

Thanks in advance for the support, i'm going to need it for sure.

I'll see you in the KTC Hall of Fame in a few months!

Rawls said it perfectly.

I can only suggest to get a buddy and go through your place and find your hidden cans. the ones that got 'lost' driving or sitting in your couch/recliner. Your secret Hidey Holes. All of that. I reached under the seat of my Jeep yesterday evening because I could see a quarter. Reach in and first thing I found was a can. It was empty by the sound of it. I know if I was in my infancy or this then I probably would have licked the can clean. Anyways. A lesson from experience.

The way that Rawls said this is perfect. Everyone has that thought that "it won't be me," but the reality of it is, it could be any of us.

Another one and done? Pretty ballsy (or just plain stupid) aiming for the hall of fame when you can't even post roll one freakin day...

I appreciate you fellas busting my balls. It is well deserved. I just got to a computer to post roll for the day. That's why I know this is going to be painful....this is the time of night where I'm done for the day, grab my laptop, and a can of Grizzly. But tonight that's not happening. And it's because of you guys for letting me know how serious this shit is, and how important it is to stick to my commitment. Consider my roll posted....let's do it again tomorrow.

Good to see you back and still nic free. WUPP is the acronym here, Wake Up, Piss, Post Roll. We post our promise as early as possible so as not to give ourselves time to second guess. You can post from an Apple or Android phone, IPad, etc. If you cant get to one of them then you get some digits from people in your quit group and have them pick you up on roll. Your roll call post is your promise not use nicotine in any form for 24 hours. You do that ODAAT EDD (One Day At A Time, Every Damn Day) and build yourself a web of accountability and brotherhood and that my friend, equals success. Check your PM, my number is there. If you can't get to the site, let me know and I will pick you up once in a while. You gotta make the effort though, we can't quit for you. Proud to quit with you today!

Ok boys Day 5 over. I am late to start posting. I am Beedog13 and I have been dipping Red Man off and on for over 25 years. I stopped for most of 2011 then got sucked in on a road trip home to Ohio from Florida--trying to stay "alert" at the wheel. I have been a slave to this shit for far too long. I have lied to my wife about quitting several times---you always get caught. I had some mysterious mouth sores in 2015--after I was cleared by an EENT doc I went right back to dipping. I am not your average looseleaf user--medical professional, six figure income etc. Breaking nicotine addiction is hard--I empathize with my patients who cannot stop dipping or smoking. It's a bitch. But now I am tired of being a bitch to tobacco. I have made all the excuses. "It is one of the few things I enjoy" "It keeps me sane" "It calms me down" BULLSHIT! We are addicts, boys. Face it. It could be worse yeah, but we are no better than crack/meth addicts at the baseline. I put my stash in the trash under a bag of dogshit...seriously I almost considered digging it out at my weakest moments this week. The very idea of that puts it all in perspective--ADDICT!. The first three days of this quit were sooooo hard. Before, I used Hooch and some other fake stuff...cold turkey this time. No surrogates. I have been using hard candy and mints to deal with triggers and cravings. I am in control. I have the right mindset. I cannot be stopped...

Hey Beedog! check out the welcome tab. It'll talk about why we post roll. The idea is that if you promise yourself and a bunch of other strangers to quit for the day, you can't lose. It is an infalable system. Then, you just have to find your group and post role every morning. Folks who think they can do it alone and don't buy into that philosophy fail at a far greater rate.

The dude whose intro you posted in hasn't bought into the system yet. He's got a boat load of balls for naming his intro that and then not showing up. You see, Beedog, you gotta show up.
You're all foggy right now. That's a normal reaction when you quit injesting poison. It gets better with time. Every day is a little better. Get in there. Post roll and start your own intro page. This ones gonna get buried soon.

Brotherhood, accountability, success

It's not by yourself without being accountable and failing like we all did before. Future hof my 'arse'

You can do this, the cravings will pass, and the fog will lift. If you get short with people, make sure they know what you are dealing with and apologize quickly. Reach out to as many people on here as you can. This site works, if you work it!

For a future HOF member, you sure are having problems with the whole roll posting thing. You know, the entire basis behind getting to the HOF. Get your shit together son. The method is simple, the doing can be difficult but the more involved you are the easier it will be.

A perfect example of why we quit one day at a time here, don't put the HoF in front of the horse..............
