Title: Finally time...
Post by: claydiamond7 on April 29, 2012, 10:53:00 PM
I have come to the point where dipping can actually casue me not to be able to move ahead in my career! Never thought this day would come but it has. Speaking of which, does anyone know how long it will take for everything to be out of my system so that I can pass a nicotine drug screen?

I don't really want to give advice on a nicotine drug screen. (depends on the type of screen - a cheek swab is much more sensitive). That's not why we do this though.

Quit today. That's all you can do. Don't worry about your upcoming test. Don't worry about doing this for a future promotion. Do this for you. Do this for today. Post your promise to remain nicotine free for the remainder of the day. Keep your word.

Quit for you!
If you stop for someone else or something the odds of it lasting are slim. Take it from a 38 yr stop start pauser. I can't count the times I've stopped ( for days - several years). But I can tell you how many days I've QUIT, 30 days. That may not seem like long to 14000 days of addiction but I can feel the difference between a stop and a quit! I'm taking my quit like everyone else here 1 day at a time. If you are commited, willing to sacrifice the time EVERY day to promise your group that you will stay nicotine free for the day and have the integrity to keep your word you will succeed! Make a contact list of fellow quiters to lean on when you are having a rough time, no need to take the journey alone.

Clay,

Hope you come back to read these posts. You need to quit for you. If you quit for a job, or quit for a family member, you won't stay quit. If you don't hate nicotine, hate the fact that it has a grip on you, hate the fact that you waste money on it, you'll never stay quit. You might actually never quit at all.

You need to want to quit so bad that you'll give up anything or do anything to stay quit. How this site works, as you might already know, is that you post "roll" every day. By doing so, you are promising to everyone else on the list that you won't use any nicotine that day. If you can't quit for yourself, and if you aren't ready to protect your quit at all costs, how can you keep your promise to the people who are going through the same symptoms and issues that you are?

Come back, ask questions, quit for yourself, save your life.

What kind of job is screening you for nicotine use?

Clay,

Hope you read this man. I also quit for my daughters and my family and that is all well and good, but you have to be in this for YOU. I QUIT because I want to. I don't want tobacco anymore. You need look in mirror and quit for you. Hope you do. Help is here.
