My name is Brad, and today is the first day of my quit. I've tried 3 other times to quit and have yet to be successful. I have a feeling this time will be the one. I decided to quit because my father who is a smoker had a heart attack 3 days ago, and had to have 2 stents placed. I want to be around to watch my little girl grow up, so I have challenged myself and my dad to quit the nicotine habit for good. Here's to hoping it works and I'm counting down the days to June 30 2013 when I hit my 100 days.

Wow Brad! You have a lot of want in that intro. There is zero luck, hope or wish in quitting, we quit! The next issue don't get hung up with forever, we quit today. Now read everything you can, post roll daily and become a active quitter today. Go to the salmon colored Welcome Center above.

Congrats on quitting, it's the best decision you could ever make. Read all you can on the site, it will help you a lot. The first few days are rough as hell but it does get better. After around 72 hours all the nicotine should be out of your system. Keep some sunflower seed, candy, tooth picks or fake chew close by for when those cravings hit. If you need anything at all feel free to pm me. I quit with you today.

Hey man...congrats on taking this first step. One thing tho...there's no hoping or wishing my brother. Think about your little girl and QUIT. I'm on Day 5 and I never thought I could do it. "One day at a time" might seem cliche but if you hold on to that concept dearly, I know you'll be ok man.

Allright quit brother. Role up your sleeves and lets do this... First thing, the hope thing has to go. I learned early on during this life changing fight is I had to get my mind right, as do you! No more words like hope, maybe. In short all that means is when it gets tough I got a reason to just say screw it....... So my question is do you really want it? If so post up and use words like I got this and I QLF [Quit Like Fuck]........

hey Brad, Good to see another slave wanting his freedom. Another addict waking up to his addiction. Did you know that you're a slave and an addict?
Getting your freedom back is a one day at a time battle. Look in the mirror at the addict and tell him what you're gonna do and what you're "not" gonna do!!!!
Take control, grow a pair, daddy doesn't care! When daddy is dead and gone, he'll be gone forever. Tell dad you're doing this with or without him. Tell dad you're doing this for Brad, for yourself and because you're an addict of nicotine.
Tell dad that you're "not" going to die from nic related illnesses.
You're up. You ARE dad now with a little girl. Forget the past, Quit now, quit today, quit every a.m. by posting roll and giving your word that you ARE quit for today. keep your word all day long, get to bed. Wake and Repeat Mister and your daughter won't have to visit you addict ass in the hospital like you are doing!!!
Is it harsh? Am I an ass? I lost both mom and dad to nic related illnesses....lots of people do. But, YOU and I found killthecan.org not by chance but because deep down we need help and want to be quit. So, here we are today brother. Get to reading (educate yourself) every thing on this site. read every day. Make your quit so damn selfish. Just like when you put the poison in your mouth. Make it selfish. Make it the most important thing in your life and everyone else will benefit. Brad, don't worry about the 100 days, simply focus on today. If I can do this, I know that YOU can TOO. Read and study this site. Get into the chat room. It will most likely save your life. Cheers brother. 'bang head'
