Today I have made a conscious effort to fight my dependence on dip. I hope that doing so publically on this group will help with accountability, as several failed quit attempts plaque my outlook on the future.
Thank you to all of you that continue to fight alongside newcomers. It's important that a place like this stays alive and well.
I am preparing for the fog now. Will see you on the other side.
Questions:
Are large quantities of sunflower seeds recommended? or should one also go cold turkey on the oral fixation?
How does one use this site daily besides roll call? And does roll call occur on the respective pre-HOF group or another page?
Your support is greatly appreciated, KTC.
I am looking forward to connecting with fellow quitters.

First, congratulations on deciding to quit!
Next, posting roll is a big part of what we do. It creates accountability to yourself and everyone here that you will not use nicotine in any form for one full day. As they say, post early. Post every day. Your group is the December 15 group (which is when you will reach 100 days by quitting one day at a time).
The second part of KTC is brotherhood. That comes from exchanging phone numbers with fellow quitters to text / call when in need of a little backup to stay quit. Exchange these numbers in PMs (e.g. PM me yours, I return mine) to keep your number safe from internet trolls.
Otherwise use all the tools available. Read everything on the site as a way to deal with the fog and craves. Take advantage of the chat and your quit group's GroupMe to get help quickly, and build brotherhood. If you get angry, aim it here! We can deal with it (your family doesn't deserve to be a target).
put a quick hello post in when you do roll, say hello to others who are in the fog with you. Over time, it will get better.
Proud to quit with you today.

Welcome FamilyMan. You have made a great decision to get your name on roll today and to fight this fight with us. We have all failed to quit on our own, there is no shame in that. This is one of the most addictive substances known to man, and we each chose to use it for however many years. Now it's up to you to choose NOT to use it. We make that commitment one day at a time (ODAAT) around here. Just for today, I refuse to let nicotine reclaim a foothold in my life. Tomorrow, I will wake up and make another choice.
First, don't worry about the oral fixation stuff. Use whatever you need to use to keep tobacco out of your face. Seeds, gum, mints, etc. Some guys like to dip herbal chew (no nicotine), some guys think it's too close to the real thing and steer clear. I used seeds and gum a ton early on, but even after only 61 days, I don't really need either any more. It's a personal choice, but for me, having those things to get through some tough craves was necessary.
Second, this site has a TON to offer other than posting roll. That's the most important part, but there are volumes of information, words of wisdom, hall of fame speeches, etc. to read. I found these to be immensely helpful early on in my quit because it helped to understand the battle, but also why we battle.
Glad to have you hear, and if you need anything at all, do not hesitate to reach out to anybody here.
